- I splurged out and bought a 500 watt lighthouse hydro blackstar LED fixture...the 3w chipset. The only reason i made the purchase is because it was only $450, and they usually sell for $560. Previously i'd been using just cfls, to be honest they weren't cutting it for flowering....(for vegging i have no problem at all with cfls). Now do you think if i just added more cfl's which in return could be worse; energy, heat, and headache wise(when it comes to mounting them all), that the outcome would be denser nugs compared to this unit. I feel as though i may not have researched enough and just wanted a simple $450 dollar answer to my light issue. My area is 2.5x4 ft and i was using about 204 watts of cfls which was getting a little warm temperature wise at a 2700k spectrum. Height doesn't matter because I'm scroging. Input would be really appreciated for those who may be familiar with the unit or for those who want to comment on whether I made the right or wrong choice.
Just so you don't hate mei do have a hps light. i just can't use it, because my previous buddha sanctuary which had ventilation is unavailable due to family
