A few noob questions (dont get mad please)

Hello guys,

I'm planning to start my first grow and I have a few questions: The question might be annoying or extremely nooby so please dont get mad thanks....

1.) My friend who claims to have grown in the past says that 2 plants could produce up to 200-300 gram each is that true?
2.) My friend also claims that after harvest or during harvesting you can cut off the buds and the buds will regrow, I do not believe him because in all grow
movies I watched so far I did not see people do that at all.....
3.) For 2 plants how high should the wattage be? How many lamps?
4.) Which fertilizer are the best?
5.) Which soil is the best?
6.) Can i grow the 2 plants in a closet or is a growbox recommended?
7.) I live in a country with a lot of humidity, do I need to leave the AC running 24/7 in order to keep it less humid?
8.) Im going to Amsterdam in 2 months, which seeds are recommended for a noob grower and that produces a lot of bud?
9.) How much do i need to invest for 2-3 plants? And how much bud will i get from them?

9.) How much do i need to invest for 2-3 plants? And how much bud will i get from them? How much depends on A lot of things. You get out of it, what you put into it.

1.) yes but not with an indoor grow of limited space - you kind of need to say how much room you have to work with...
2.) never heard of it, but I cant answer that as maybe someone has done that
3.) For 2 plants how high should the wattage be? How many lamps? what kind of lamps are you planning on running? I have seen a reference to cfl lighting being 100w for one plant and 50 more for each additional I am growing one plant under 294w cfl
4.) Which fertilizer are the best? subjective sorry couldn't tell you

Im going to Amsterdam in 2 months, which seeds are recommended for a noob grower and that produces a lot of bud? for a noob grower, from what I am told (as anoob) , none of them, there is not a seed alive that will turn a noob into a high yield pro. if I had to recommend I could only go with what I know to date and that is that short rider and blue mystic feminized autoflowers seem to be hearty breeds for inexperienced
9.) How much do i need to invest for 2-3 plants? And how much bud will i get from them? - that is like asking if I had an 11 inch weiner how many orgasms could I give my wife who has a small clitoris......... too many factors to count but the one thing I can confidently assert is that if you plan on saving money from buying, or that is the motivating factor you may want to consider going low budget on everything and see if you are up to the challenge as it will take 3-4 crops from 2-3 plants to break even .. 3.) Is 1000 W necessary, i have ac's running all the time.... the electricity bill will be sky high... will 2 x 250 work as well?
4.) Whats MJ specficic? Could you tell me a brand? My friend is crazy he said he doesn't want to grow with fertilizers he wants to put cow shit.... I thought hes joking but he's unfortunately serious, what do you think?
5.) Could you give me a few brands that you could recommand for a first grow?
6.) Does the closet need to be disinfected and cleaned like in the movies? Do i need to put lady bugs inside? I saw some growers do that....
7.) One of those large ones or is a small dehumidifier ok as well? Do i need to install one of those air sucking ventilators and make a whole in the wall or is it for more advanced grows only?

I did watch a lot of those videos, however, most of them are focused on big time grows of lots of plant... I want a to see a video for a small grow in a closet since i wanna start small. Do you know a good video for small grows? On youtube there are some but not really good ones....

There ya go

1) 200-300 grams isn't going to happen on your first grow. Set your goals high (200-300 grams), but set your expectations realistic (75-150 grams). Don't over water and do not (DO NOT) use too many nutes.
2) Never heard of rebudding. The plant has a natural life cycle that begins when it starts to flower. You could hold one in veg mode almost eternally, but once it's flowering... that horse is running itself to death. You take the clones before you start to flower it. I'm sure a few super experienced pros could probably trick a plant into re-vegging mode and then pull it back into flowering to grow more buds, but that seems like far more work than it's worth and more than likely you would stress the plant to death or make it hermie on you.
3) Can't help you on the lights. I run LEDs, for many reasons, including electric bills and heat signatures, etc.
4) If your friend is an experienced soil mixer, then he could do great things with various manures and worm castings and such, but it doesn't sound like you two really know what you're doing, so I would say start with a decent soil like Fox Farms and go from there. You have a lot of reading to do. Once you germinate and plant your seed into good soil, read these forums for hours every night. You can hear hundreds of years of growing experience on these forums. I haven't even asked a question of my own in years of reading and growing, and I just created a profile because I felt like I wanted to be a part of this community (rather than a silent observe I've been for years). I just read what other people ask and what the responses from the wise ones say.
5) Fox Farm Ocean Forest, or Fox Farm Happy Frog. Throw in a little extra perlite (I add one cup of perlite per gallon of soil) for good drainage.
6) It's your first grow. Why are you disinfecting your closet? Just sweep it up. Also, I'm a bit worried about you running high heat lights in a closet on your first grow. Make sure you are using ballasts for your lights or you'll burn your damn house down! Better yet, run a good LED and don't worry about high bills and high heat and fires.
7) Just make sure you have fresh air circulating into the grow room. And a nice breeze of a fan on your plants. Watch to make sure you aren't burning the plants with too much heat or having the light too close.
There are a ton of great genetics out there. No one can choose which one for you. You don't have to go there to buy seeds. You can order them online.
9) You get a return based on your initial investment. The business term for this is ROI (return on investment). For 500 dollars, and two plants, you should be alright.

I'm still worried about you running an HPS on your first grow. Have you thought about just going the CFL route for your first run?

no on your first grow it is unlikely that you will get 200/300g your first grow probably a bit optimistic ....you can clone or plant new seeds (if you want variety)......no 1000w is not nessesary ...( if you want to get 200/300g per plant its probably a needed) a 400 or 600 would be sufficient.....you only need lady bugs if you have a pest problem......yes youll need ventilation (to reduce heat and odor control) ...there are hundreds of different strains and levels of high ,for seeds to start pick a classic like ak47 ,northern lights ,these always go down a storm....have fun and gl

@ pax awesome post dude, all i have to say is about #2, yes. you can re-veg a plant. the info is on here somewhere and goes something like , take all but the bottom 1/3 of the plant, leave several buds and small leaves, re-pot and remove excess or dead roots. keep her in the most favourable conditions available and swap the lights to 18/6. i am not 100%% on this please do not use it without further investigation.

and i agree, hid lamps can be... hot, and expensive, go T5 High output or LED's. LEDs will give you a better everything for your investment in them.

Thank you both chuck and Pax for the great tips, I learned a lot. I will keep reading and watching videos about growing.

6.) Why am i disinfecting the closet? I don't know i see a lot of videos where they use special sprays and stuff on walls to prevent bacteria and bugs etc... Thats why i asked if i should disinfect the closet. I'm considering buying a grow tent, since it looks good for noobs such as me...
7.) circulation is a problem... I have 4 Small mini computer cooling fans I hope that they will give enough circulation.


I think it might not be a bad idea to start with CFL + LED laps... I found a video thats explains it.

Again thanks for the great tips and helps everyone, I will contact you guys again once I purchased all the equipment.

Right now I have running a small grow in a closet with only 1 plant.

My first 2 attempts failed in the plant's early stages. 1st due to lack of experience, and 2nd due to impatience.

Right now I'm on my third attempt and it is going good so far other than overwatering which is (i think) also causing nute deficiencies.

I am running 1-2 23w(100w) CFL lamps.

A couple tips I can suggest is:
1. After getting your setup up, do a trial run over night to see how high the temps go and see how the humidity is.
2. Because it is in a closet, if you don't have any kind of vent in there, the temps will keep rising unless you open the door to exhaust the air.
3. Get a humidifier/dehumidifier after your test run to see if you even need it.

If you have the money, I would invest in a grow tent, you can make use of the light a lot better, better ventilation spots, and have a way to control the stench when it gets to that point.

So far I have invested less than $150 in my small cheaply made grow. Trust me... It looks like crap, but is working so far..

I'm using foxfarm for fertilizer it works for me amazon has it cheap. I'm using 4ft t5 with some leds low power use for my small tent . I think I put to many have 5 plants , I think 3 would have been good they are growing very big .I do use my ac on timer if it get hot but so far I don't need it in my basement that much
