Ya know, A.N. has spent a lot of time and money developing a very complete line of nutes and I know myself they DO work. They aren't cheap and to be honest you get what you pay for. I do not recommend using parts of ferts and nutes in a "Frankenstein" feeding system. I used Fox Farm and Earth Juice along with some other additives, never got anything to speak of at that time.

Go ahead and use whatever system you want but it only makes sense to utilize a single cohesive system of ferts and other nutes and fill in whatever blanks you may find.

nutes you should be using are the ones that don't say advanced on the bottle that should solve all your problems ...

Last November, I decided to grow weed. I decided to so a semi-organic coco grow. I looked at a few brands on line and thought Bontanicare seemed as good as any. I went down to a local hydro shop, which turned out to be one hell of a drive - damn traffic circles. I told this dude (the owner?) that I wanted to do coco and possibly organic.

"Oh, I was just talking to another customer about this." He begins to pull down the AN pH-Perfect Micro/Grow/Bloom product.

"I'm just thinking about this right now," I said, which was true. I wanted to make sure they carried whatever line I finally decided to use, look at what else I might need, and so on. I was not buying that day.

I had not looked at AN yet. So, I went home and googled them. Hmm. I think if weed were legal, they might hire Vince to do their infomercials. Their site struck me that way, which is a bit icky. Oh well - they actually have a nice page about coco and some of the quirks and issues. AN, which supposedly does a lot of research, says to be sure to use 100% coco-safe nutrients. They have plenty of products that they think I should or could use with coco - the pH-Perfect is not on the list. I don't think Jungle Juice is either.

Yeah - AN is supposed to be a leader - and they recommend you use their other products with coco. So either all of that is advertising hype, or the dude in the hydro store is clueless. In the end, I went with my first choice of Botanicare, and continue to research the subject.

Moral of the story - trust no one. You can take input and advice, but ultimately you have to put it all together yourself.

Good advice. And yes more often than not the hydro shop guys are clueless.
