Sorry about your loss, I hope I am blessed with 4 females, though odds are against me.

I always heard that when a cannabis plant grows from a seed there are two speeds at which it grows. Female speed and Male speed, males tend to grow faster then females. So if you have two plants the same strain, you treat them the same etc, and one grows faster, most likely it's a male. Hope that made sense, and I don't even know if it's true. It's just what some growers I know have told me.

Also, I cannot test this theory because I topped my plants.. That right there will determine how fast it grows.

How many days flowering before that growth started to show? I was convinced about 10 days into flowering my plant was male. It turned out to be female. I wouldn't kill it till your 100% sure. The female growth kind of looked like little balls to me at first, then they opened up and walla...female. I wouldn't pull it till you see a bunch of little balls in between the nodes. It probably won't pollinate your other plant (unless you're a few weeks in), and it will be worth the wait.

3-4 days is way to early too tell. Give it about 10 days. If you see clusters of these balls at each node where the new growth is taking place, then it is a male. There will be 3-5 balls visible at first. Trust me, my first female looked like it had those balls for about 3 days, and I was going to kill it. Then one day some VERY tiny pistils came out.

Growing plants take patients. Just wait another week and know for sure. You will be much happier in the end if it turns out female. If it's male, then you will be able to tell for sure next time you grow.

that depends on how long he vegged for. if he vegged for 4-5 weeks its possible he saw preflowers then, and full flowers within a week of 12/12

and in that second pic u can see clusters of balls at the nodes and at the top of the plant.

yeah thats a male alright

Dude finding out one of your first 2 plants is a male is definitely not a nightmare. I mean you gotta expect if one is female the other will be male.
