There's way too many myths out there on ways to increase resin production in the last day or two of flowering. Most of the information comes from a friend who heard from a friend who knows somebody who grew a plant that one time. Like if you drill a hole in your stem 24 hrs before the chop to increase resin production, or snapping your stem in half, ect... Its all really been classified as inconclusive as to wether or not it really works.

One thing that has proven to work to some extent, is to give your plants 24-48 hrs of complete darkness right before you chop. This encourages your plant to try to give up as much of its resin content as possible before you cut it down, because its an extreme change in conditions, and the plant thinks its starting to die. Others let their soil completely dry out, to the point of the leaves all either drooping severly, or even falling off. Its said that by doing this, it does the same thing as the dark period. Either way, there's too many "tricks" that people have heard out there, and 70% of it is all probably bullshit. My advise would be to grow your plant out, and not do anything to harm it. Give your plants the 48 hrs of darkness before the chop, its the least stressful, proven method of accomplishing what your trying to attempt.

Good luck man :D

Hey man, drilling a hole in the stem really works but it has to be a 3/32" drill bit at a 48 degree angle, the angle must be exact or it will hurt the plant. I had it sent to a friend that knows a friend that works at the lab and buds above the hole tested at 63% THC while the buds below the hole stayed at the standard 20%. I know it sounds crazy but it works.

Isn't this another fable, that has been past down through the growing grapevine? Only actual proof of this is always related back to the same study from some no name lab test in Finland or somewhere where it claims to increase THC by 10 - 30%. I have never seen another written study on this providing actual test results. While it might sound logical, there is not enough real proof it works and you might actually just be missing extra hours of photosynthesis with the lights on instead of having them off for an extended period.

I have known people who have tried and compared it and they say it does not seem to make any difference. Now these were not scientific lab studies however just fellow growers and stoners. Now I think a 10-30% increase in THC would be significantly noticeable however, I would love to see an actual scientific lab study to verify this claim before I call it anything more than just another myth.

You can also boil the roots and hang the entire plant upside down so all the THC flows into the buds :hump:

Are you sure that angle is 48 degrees? I'm sure I heard 49 degrees somewhere back when I was in band camp and my counselors brother had a pothead friend that told his brother which ended up getting back to him.

would it harm it or anything like reduce the thc
i dont do this cuz i already got tons of thc on my plant without doing any magic tricks but i know an older guy who's been growing for 20years or so and he slams a nail into the bottom of the trunk 24-72hours before harvest and swears it gives him more trichs.. it wont hurt ur plant at all tho to answer ur question ive seen it done..i wouldnt do it unless u were about to pick it tho cuz u dont want any open wounds on ur plants thru out the grow..it could get sick and start lookin like shit
