A real noob question...

Is it normal in veg for a plant that has been neglected for lets say a week maybe 8 days tops to have the fan leaves dead and falling off and new ones growing..?

I'm only asking because about half of the unfortunately neglected plants are growing new branches where the dead ones were and the other half seem to have pretty much said fuck it we don't need leaves down that low anyway...

Yeah... They don't look too bad except of course for the dying and dead lower leaves...

My first time growing indoors and I managed to get distracted with all this Christmas crap and family and preparing for a new job etc... I feel terrible about neglecting them...

Well ii guess its normal, not healthy for them but she is fighting to live! Defense mech possibly shed old big heavy leaves for smaller healthier ones? I don't neglect my ladies like that so couldn't really tell you, but that's my guess.

yes it is completely normal for a plant to do this.

when i plant can no longer get food or water from the soil it will use all of the resources it has stored in its self before it dies. this causes the plant to start losing fan leaved from the bottom of the plant moving up towards the top. the plant will grow new fan leaves to replace the old lost ones because it still needs the chlorophyll production, which happens largely in fan leaves.

Thank you for the answers guys, I only just made the transition from growing outside to growing inside and all I know so far is that it is way easier for a person with slight issues remembering things to grow outside...
