A tax analogy, who's really paying their fair share?

Yes, but those individuals better know exactly what might happen when the tax man catches up with them.

The government will do whatever they can/want when they come to the conclusion that you owe them something.
Hello. I found the use of the word "owe" in your post interesting.

The term "owe" implies a mutual and non coerced agreement. As in you borrowed $5 from me and agreed to pay me, now you owe it to me.

In a rational world you would only "owe" that which you have agreed to or when there is a exchange of services absent any coercion. Services imposed at the point of a gun, like "government services" are not really services, they are impositions... Taxes rely upon force and the threat of violence. The method of collection used by the IRS and Mobsters is similar as is their business models.

You are right the government will do what ever it can to collect, they rely upon threats and violence. I try to avoid doing business with thugs.

it was about 21-22% if i recall correctly, and it was on about $28k or so.

anyone else here want to attest that they're paying about 20-25% on their similar level wages? canna sylvan already has. any others?
First it was $35k a year, now it's dropped 20% down to about $28k! Are you saying that along with not knowing how much you pay in federal income taxes, you also have no clue how much money you make a year? LMAO

Ok, so now your gross income is some how down to $28k a year, and your federal income tax is also down to 21% instead of your original claim of 25%, right?

Damn Bucky, your effective tax rate is only 5-6%, that means your contribution to the country is around $28 a week!
Once again, you're either totally ignorant or you're caught in a flat out lie.

The "rich people" you hate so much, like Mitt Romney, contribute more than a quarter million dollars per month, on top of that, their investments create jobs. Only an idiot would have a hard time figuring this out.

So, how many jobs do you create with your $28 a week contribution?
And where you get the audacity to complain is beyond me.

I guess this is what twerps like you say when you're called out and fall flat on your ass. You whine like a little bitch about the rich paying lower tax rates, come to find out you pay maybe 6%. LOL
Your own damn salary and taxes make no sense to you, no wonder your wife supports you.
Dude, I'm telling you, I would be absolutely humiliated if I had to live off my wife, do you have any pride as a man at all?

At least Mitt Romney steps up to the plate instead of acting like a littl pussy when it comes to taking care of his lady.
What you need to do is occupy a fucking job ya loser!

you're right, my greenhouse was built and tilled out by my wife.

all those lights hanging in my garage? wife bought them. i've just been telling lies when i said i bought them with the extra tax breaks afforded to me by the ARRA.

and worst of all, i've been lying when i post tax brackets from the IRS. the IRS and i are in on this scheme whereas they retroactively change their tax brackets based on lies i tell on RIU.

you sure are a smart cookie, how'd you manage to figure that all out?

LOL!

Don't be mad bro, just because you don't have your own pussy to occupy, no reason to vent against Bucky. If pussy ain't your thing, nothing wrong with that either.
Mad, I'm not mad, I'm laughing my ass off at Bucky the loser. Looks like the only one mad is you, watching little Bucky get pwned a little too much for ya, are you coming to little Bucky's rescue? LOL

i paid the state a couple of hundred dollars in income taxes on my sub-poverty income.
Bucky, how can you claim to pay a 25% rate making 30k a year and only owe a couple of hundred dollars in state income taxes? LOL

. canna sylvan and me (when i'm working those desk jobs) pay closer 25% in taxes on our $30k.
i have the returns, i can prove it.
i can take pictures of my 2008 and 2009 returns.
Damn, you have the returns and the pics, what's keeping you! Dude, I thought you were going to dig that tax return out of the garage and make us all look stupid? ROTFLMAO

i know how romney accumulated his wealth on the backs of hard working, middle class folk. it's well documented.
congrats, mr. romney, on creating a few thousand min wage jobs.

my pa-in-law is a millionaire many times over, and i stand to take over much of his empire once he gets tired of it and i am ready for such a task, capitalism is ideal, especially if you have mechanisms in place to ensure that people behave ideally.
Awe, I see, Mitt Romney is a capitalist prick, but your multimillionaire pa-in-law is a righteous dude, is that because you stand to get a piece of his capitalist pie? What a fucking hypocrite loser you are.

We can help you. How are you growing those plants? If it's hydro, I most likely know what's wrong. My guess, too much nitrogen. We'll also need close ups. Ppm, ph, relative humidity , ambient temperature, light source and distance to plants, sqft each light covers, water temp?

he definitely went with way too much nitrogen, and there's no possible way a man like you pays about 20% on your $30k.

You said all said and done. Gas tax is huge. Sales tax at 8%. Utility taxes. Hot food tax, wtf on that?

that is an even worse idea.

the middle class and working poor spend a much higher percentage of their income on taxable goods beyond food and medicine than the very rich do.

someone spending $20k out of their $25k earnings is getting 80% of their income taxed at 10%, or whatever the sales tax is.

someone spending $1 million out of their $20 million earnings is getting 5% of their income taxed at 10%.

clearly, this flows money to the top at the expense of the hard working schlub.

stupid idea.
Rich people buy expensive things. If they hoarded all their income, what would be the point of being rich?

I'm pleased you offered to help me Canna, I'm always ready to learn new stuff.

Funny, your buddy Bucky advised me to add nitrogen and you think I have too much? I think I'll disagree with both of ya on this one, beings the plant is a week or two before finish. My guess is that it's a natural nitrogen deficiency, but maybe I can learn something here. Anyway, to answer your questions, it's an outdoor grow back in the early 1980s, the strain was skunk. Soil ph was 6.3, water was 7.1. We didn't concern ourselves with relative humidity outdoors cause we figured we'd have a difficult time regulating it, ambient temps in Hopland Ca at the end of September averaged 90 degrees in the day and 65 during the night. The light source was Mendocino County solar, the distance between the light source and the plants was longer than any tape measure we had at that time!

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks bro.
