A week from harvest and got Spider mites

:wall: So I just found spider mites on my ladies, it is not far from turning real bad. I was going to harvest in about 6-8 days. I watered all with Azamax hopeing i can get some results still... Need some reassurance, Are my Ladies going to be ruined or will the aza max take care of these little shit heads? and if i do get rid of them will the aza max mess up my taste and smell? If you have any advice for me it is much appreciated :wall:

Azamax is good i use that and neem... U have to spray dude. to late tho. next time buy rhinoskin. Its to make your plants handle stress better. SO mites wont kill them as fast.. any ways heres what you can do. Get them really cold so the mites die off. clip while they are still growing and make it freezing for 1 or two days. That way it wont be so bad when they are drying

So I probably should of just chopped them down tonight instead of watering..Oh and do you think the azamax will give my buds a funny taste? Im not able to freeze them. I will look into the Rhinoskin, thanks :leaf:

Unfortunately, it's too late in flowering to do much in eradicating them completlely. There are a number of spays you can use though. Dr. Pursifull's, Zero Tolerance, Neem, and something I've gotten great results called Mite Rid. I fuckin' hate bugs and can't wait to hear you fucked their enitre colonly up. Best of luck!

Too late in flowering to be spraying, only safe choice is to get your room real cold,so eggs can't hatch.......colder temps keep em away for sure.I like to spray with plain water and wipe eggs and mites and get it nice and cold..........

its so late your probably good with the cold keeping them at bay until, I just fought off most of my white flies by covering all the pots with the play sand and also found this insecticide soap for 1.49 a bottle that is mixed way better than me and my spray bottle with the ivory, This stuff also said its safe to use all the way up until harvest and its in the new eco line shit I found on the Home depot lawn dept. I am in week 4 flower so I was reluctant to spray the buds myself but could not take it anymore and covered the tops of the leaves before the lights went out and this took out a lot that were trying to land back on the leaves, in the morning I removed all plants when I covered them with the sand and blasted the leaves from underneath to cover the eggs on the large lower leaves. BTW I found the pest strips from hot shot did absolutely nothing at all, I have one fucking laying under each plant and hung more on top and it doesnt kill shit, your only supposed to need one and I have used 10 with fans off for days and it does not help at all. I read they are great and found they suck in my own experience, Good luck man let us know how it turns out,

I've had mixed results regarding the No Pest strips. They're great at heading off fungus gnats and root aphids (given the chance), but when it comes to mites, thrips, or whiteflies, I resort to the more traditional spray/dunk techniques.

HERE'S a THOUGHT, YOU KNOW YOU CAN BUT COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN COMPUTER KEYBOARDS ETC, HOW ABOUT PUTTING UP SOME STICKY INSECT STRIPS THEN SPRAYING THE COMPRESSED AIR ONTO AND THREW YOUR LADIES, SURLY THE LITTLE BUGS N THEIR EGGS WOULD FLY STRAIGHT INTO YOUR TRAPS REVITALIZING UR LADIES AND WITHOUT HARM OF SPRAYING WITH LIQUIDS, JUST A THOUGH BUT I SEE NO REASON WHY IT SHOULDNT WORK, NEEM OIL IS A GOOD DETERENT AND SO IS TEA TREE OIL, LET ME KNOW UR THOUGHTS - STELTHY :)

Here is the easiest way I have found to keep Spider Mites and other predator bugs out of the growroom, without using other Predator Bugs or pesticides or mixing an organic solution in the kitchen.

Go to a Pharmacy and buy a spray can of Lice Spray " like RID or Store Brand " the active ingredient is " Pyrethrem. "

This is a plant compound and yes it has some petroleum in it, like most things these days, but it is a lesser evil, that will keep everything away for the entire grow and do no harm at all to the plants or you and is cheap and available anywere........Pest Strips are extremely TOXIC and should not be used for your plants and especially for you.......dichlovorus, the active ingredient in Pests strips is a horrible toxin!

Simply spray the outside of your pots with this spray and then spary some on a napkin and wipe the inner base of each pot, above the soil line.

works every time and you do not have to spray it thick as a little goes a long way and will leave a slight dry film, that will kill just about any Predator Bug, that crawls across it.

Blessings,

I am not able to lower the temperature but i do have a ice box could i put them in there for a day or so?
Do you have a dehum?? Heres what you can do. Get a spray bottle, fill it and put it in the freezer and let it get cold for an hour or so.. Then take that and spray it under each leaf, avoiding the buds. Take your fan and put it directly on your plants shaking them around.. Mites are really easy to get rid of when you have a small garden. When you spray make sure you have good ventilation and hopefully a dehum and a good strain.. good luck. Usually to get rid of mites you have to start early and switch your substance. Clean your room good with 10%bleach and have one set of tools that are cleaned before and after use. Basicaly spray everything with bleach before your babies enter... Start in the beggining with neem oil( even if there isnt any mites... Most sprays stay on the plant for 21 days.. I dont spray in the last two weeks.. good luck!!! i bet you could freeze the plant for 1 hour and the mites would die.. Keep an eye on your plant since i have not tried this i wouldnt know.. pce

OK I put my ladies in a cooler for 24hrs. kept temp between 40F and 32F it looks as if it killed all the adult mites, however there were still hundreds of eggs so in stead of sparying directly on I took a cotton pad and soaked it in azamax water, and wiped underneath the leaves it looks asthough it picked up alot of eggs, but there are still plenty to worry about. Im am going to keep them at the low temps for another 24hours since it doesnt seem to be hurting them yet, hopefully it will work....Thanks for all the advice everyone and i will keep you posted see if this really works
