When do you all decide to switch to 12/12 or is just a matter of doing based off preference of size? i know you can 12/12 from seedling but i am wondering is there a text book time or sign to switch to 12/12? I have 3 plants two of them are 3 weeks old tomorrow. These are short and very wide actually wider then tall. They have shoots on top of shoots they are also a mystery strand. My 3rd plant is taller and more in uniform still nice and bushy but has some better height and she is 4 weeks old. I topped one and i also started some LST is this to early to do that? The topping looks great the new main stems or shoots look great on all three of them and they are really growing out over the past couple dats. First time grower here so any advice would be great. Thanks.

as above and try to allow a few tight nodes of growth, this will be the basis of your eventual nice sized buds, good luck

4-5 weeks veg 10-12" height is OK but you can veg more if you want and have the space all depends of your room...your plant after switch to 12/12 will be doubled, tripled in size but as you said can start 12/12 from seed but the yield isn't the same, more veg will give you better yield results for sure..

easy man 8)

There is no specific time here my friend..
From seed a plant will take time to mature enough to flower at full capacity, you can tell she has reached this stage by looking at the branching you will see opposing nodes. (the new nodes appear staggered) if that makes sense..

A cutting from a mature mother plant will already be mature and will reach this stage quicker than a plant from seed. although you can flower a plant straight from seed/cutting i would not recommend it unless you are doing a SOG.

In your case your at week 3 so you should be good to go.

It is a little late to fully LST your plants but i believe its better late than never. have you got a few more week that you can leave it in veg or are you an a strict time schedule?
if you have got time then do a little LST over a couple of weeks and you will increase your final yield.
if not its cool just go 12/12 and watch them stretch:weed:.

have you any pics of the girls?

Peace

Just noticed you comment.
You should be fine man.

As far as I know full LST during flowering can be done into the about first couple of weeks (final stretching of the plant/strain) but that doesn't leave enough time to grow above the pot enough to create some good colas.

All the frame work should be crated during the growing period of the plants life. Then once you have buds forming just LST in the way of just holding the buds in place so they can all see the light. (Basically what you've done)

Have you got a pic that would help?

Peace.
