Acceptable costs for meds?

So, I've been to The Human Collective II, Urban Collective, and Oregon Medical Cannabis Club, and they all charge "donation rates" of about $10/g. (Human Collective II had "donation rates" between $8-$10/g)

You know how much I pay on the street? $10/g. Same from 3 different dealers.

So does someone want to explain to me how these places aren't selling? Calling a sale a donation doesn't make it so. I can call my cat a dog, but he's still a cat.

Prices are acceptable considering cost of meds in So Cal are about double. Makes me happy that I moved the the Beaver State!!! But sadly the cost of getting licensed is about 3x more here.

I wouldn't complain, you should be thankful for what you do have. They could be charging 30 a gram if they wanted, its there weed and your buying. so stop buying it

All true but seems like so far only for-profit growers have chimed in.

Note op didn't say the prices were rip offs, just asking how the dispensary is supposed to be different from a dealer. Sale vs donations thing.

That's just my knee jerk reaction.

down south, the delivery service is 15-17, the only club around is 8-10, and if a grower is selling 50 ozzies, be wary of the quality. I also know of people growing that adon't smoke, but they sell, lmfao, this just kills me, so compassionate, not greed, compassion, that drives em. But they got fiddy dollar ozzies for sale, hehe.

Most reputable dispensaries in Oregon especially in Multnomah County are registared as a 503(c) non-profit. With that they are not making a profit. If you go to a respectable dispensary, that $10/ gram pays for the rent, staff, utilities, product testing and knowledge that they provide. When HB3460 is finalized that price will most likely go up. Rightfully so. As a grower I feel patients can sometimes feel entitled to the cannabis for free when in fact it costs a lot of money and takes even more physical labor and time. Growers spend a lot of time and effort to produce the best quality cannabis possible and should be reimbursed above and beyond the costs related to growing. No service should be expected for free. If you feel that you are paying too much, try growing it yourselves and see how far you get. It usually doesn't take but about a month or two to for an individual to decide that growing should be left to growers. As easy as it is, it is still difficult to produce top notch cannabis. I guess the bottom line is with the new law HB3460 growers will be able to make a profit growing so prices will raise. With that said put up with it or start growing your own. IMHO.

Paul standford took care of that non profit perception a few yrs ago, gettin caught with a few mill in the bank and his asst down south getting caught selling across state lines. they need to keep a double look out on those non profit groups and their bank accts. cashcroppers always whine bout the costs and patients complaints, yet they make all that jelly, lmfao. it is not that hard to grow, its a weed for pete's sake and its not rocket science, but the cashcroppers want you to think that. hydro indoor is as easy as keeping a goldfish alive, yet cashcroppers would have you believe its brain surgery, lmfao. we'll see if the new law should weed out the weak growers from the good ones. the clubs are only gonna pay for the best, all those thikin they grow the best are in for a rudeawakening especially when they get to testing those buds, lmfao, some are gonna be so surprised, lol

It's common knowledge that cannabis is an annual, not a WEED. If you want your argument to have any validity get your facts straight.

So you go from keeping it alive to producing top shelf, ofcourse big difference. I feel like you just argued against yourself in a single post with the cashcroppers thing

My thinking here is that I was an un insured adult for most of my life until a few years ago. The entire medical/pharmaceutical situation is completely screwed in our country. It frustrates me that anyone that needs any medicine be it cannabis or ridiculously priced hiv/aids medications etc doesn't have access to what they need because of money. Money and Medicine shouldn't be combined. There shouldn't be ATM's in hospitals, albutoral shouldn't cost 200.00 with ought insurance. We live in America. With Cannabis we at least have the option because it is a plant, and we can grow it (in some states) , to be kind and help people when we can. I can't make albuterol, I can grow cannabis. Make money off recreational users and not people that are suffering. When we do that we are just as bad as the pharmaceutical corporations. I do agree that it is fair to recieve some form of "donation" for your cost's when growing for a patient, but as a patient/growerr myself I can tell you that I can't function withought my medicine, I need it. There is no way I could afford to pay for my medicine, that's why I have always grown my own.
My hope is that there comes a point where it's just legal, and there are no plant limits. I'm a wishful thinker.
Also, there is definitely a lot more to growing hydro/or soil than just going for it and crossing your fingers. However, it's also not rocket science and most people who really apply themselves to learning the in's and out's of this particular plant will get better with each grow.

You can get it even cheaper by buying in quantity. 1 oz will set you back 125-150 [that's 50% less per gram roughly] and a quapper even less per gram.
With all the heat going on these days, that's damn near cost.

Okay Im a Medi grower. $10 buys you a clone or fem seed. $10 for a bag of happy frog, $5 for a 7 gallon smart pot, $50 for a FF trio really only need big bloom and tiger bloom if transplanting into a $10 bag of ocean forest. If you choose to use the boosters its expensive outright but cost about maybe $10 a run and you have enough for dozens of grows not to bad for $90 for the flower booster. Cost about $40 a month to bang a 400hps gives me just over a pound of top shelf dripping with resin meds. A pound is 16 oz and the going prices around Portland at the top disp is 200-250 for the best in town. What I grow is way better then anything I've seen at any other these joints. If its costing them more then $50 an oz to produce they need to remove ones own head from ass. %90 of what they sell is outdoor and if its cheap its last years or has powder mildew and or premature. Deliveries ones that don't have a store front are about the only places to get actual topshelf and they are just cash croppers charging way way to much for something that cost next to nothing to produce. Outdoor is almost free to produce so 10 a gram for it is just about as ridiculous as it gets and the reason this whole program is going to go down the shitter. It should be about helping people and not about making money. should be like $5 for 5 grams of outdoor and $10 for 2 grams of indoor or even cheaper.

Maybe I am stupid...but I don't go for all the bottle nutes and fancy soil hype I grow my meds in sun and soil.
My cost per oz is ~$5/oz [not counting labor]...if you are paying over $50/oz, someone is getting tipped off.
...that being said.....
...our great state's dispensaries are charging $10-30/gm
