switched my grow over to 100% organic. my sister had a section of her yard where the worm castings were 4-6" deep. i filled up some of my old MG perlite bags. in doing so i was getting a lot of leaf litter, so i decided i'd throw in a cpl of worms and see what they do.. few wks later worms were alive and kicking.. emptied the bags, broke up the castings and sprayed them down w/kelp extract-amino/fulvic/humic acids-bat guano-azomite + a little coffee grounds/banana peels/moldy leaves just to give them a treat.added more worms from the yard.. they are on their 2nd round.. soil is black as shit.
The two bags worked out so well i started another bag giving them a specific diet for my needs.. every thing i was reading was telling me you couldn't use the worms from your yard they wouldn't survive.. they seem to be very happy..

Just depends what kind of worm they are. If they were living in that leaf litter, they were more than likely red worms (the right ones).
