adjusting light cycle to 11/13

hi
i was thinking of changing the light cycle on my big plant to 11/13 tomorrow. It's 6 and a half weeks in flower. When would be best to cut the hour - in the morning or the evening?
or does it not matter?
thanks

don't follow first part of your comment.
because i've read it can speed things up, and i'd like to experiment with it
Obviously you've done some studying on this.
They say it will speed things up, but also diminish yield due to less time (theoretically).
Unless you have another identical plant side by side that you don't change, how will you judge if it actually works or not?
Also, at more than half through your flower, I don't think the difference (if any) would be noticeable.
Sorry, not trying to be a dick, but I did pretty much the same thing one time, with one plant, then wondered did it work or not.
Either way, you can cut the hour from either end of your cycle.
Plants don't have clocks, just timers.

this is not theory i stupidly started a thread on here about the gas lantern light routine.....i was wrong. it WILL speed plants up in flower BUT yeild will be affected.

most strains are bred out under 12/12 this is what they know and like

Why do you say "Stupidly"?
Isn't that what the forum is for? To learn?
I think I remember that thread, unless there has been more than one floating around in the last say, 3 months?
I know I saw it after Feb.
N/M, I see your join date........
Ya, I remember it, but I never got into it, because I couldn't see burning a lantern in my closet.
I haven't even gotten curious enough to Google it to find out why burning (Carbon MONOXIDE) helps.

I don't think you actually run a gas lantern in your closet bub. its just a different way to run your light schedule

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the input guys! Obviously I realised if I'm not running another plant side by side I won't be able to see if it works. My reasons for wanting to speed things up are because the plant is a hermi and I want it (my only flowering plant) out of my flower room (whilst still trying to save any bud - cos I have none!). I figure the plant has another 4-5 weeks to go, so if it finishes any less than that under 10/13 I will l assume the light cycle sped things up - total guess work of course and I won't really learn anything! But really I just want rid of the plant - it was one month till my Northern Light Big Bud goes in the flower room...

Not a simple answer. Is your grow area light tight? Mine is not, so I coordinate my drops with sunrise/sunset as much as possible

Your solution is to remove the herm and let it go full length under the sun. You will have a spot to place her. On the floor at the back of a room with the window open letting light in.

Stick it in cupboard after 12hrs.

then your flower room is free. The plant can finish. You will have smoke wen she's done and be halfway through your next grow!!!!

i ran 11/13 for my jedi og with 5weeks of veg and yielded just over 4oz from 1 plant. started 2 weeks into flower. worked fine and not sure how much it hurt yield.

That would be a brilliant idea IF I had a garden. The windows in my flat only provide few hours of decent light in the morning, and that light doesn't really spread into the room - the plant is enormous, way to big to sit on the windowsill. It's a very good idea but I just can't see it working. The current cupboard it's in is my only cupboard and only real grow space. My new 10day old seedling is sharing it (with some daylight bulbs thrown in) and using some natural sun on the windowsill. But... considering it more today I'm wondering if I can convert part of my wardrobe if I throw away half my old clothes (who needs em!). Thanks for your input though, got me thinking... and I'm gonna check your journal out

10/13 won't work. Your missing an hour. I assume you meant 10/14. It's hermed, so I say what the hell go for it...
No, I meant 11/13 as I stated in the title of the thread and my original post. That one was just a dyslexic mistake... I intend to do 11/13 for a week and then 10/14

4oz off one plant!? Was that indoors? If so that's insanely good. What lights? Don't worry, I'll check your journal!

Thanks to everyone that replied, it helped!

yeah. one plant with a 400w light. actually got almost 6.5 oz but 65grams was popcorn bud from the bottom.

13 hours dark, 11 light. Then down to 14 hours dark, 10 light. I probably wrote it the wrong way around... The idea is it simulates the days getting shorter at the end of summer
