advice for growing shrooms?

so growing some shrooms is always in the back of my mind and i think i wanna give it a shot. so....

-what all do you need to do it?
-wheres a good place to order spores?
-what are the do's and dont's of growing them?

and any other advice would be much appreciated. thanks in advance for any help, advice, or tips you can give!

Go to www.shroomery.org , thats where i learned, but i'll give ya a quick rundown on what u need,
1. Pressure Cooker, the bigger the better
2. Pint or Quart canning jars<< Glass
3. Wild Bird Seed
4. Spore Syringe, NOT a Spore Print, I use spores101 they usually give u a free syringe too
5. Ultrasonic Humidifier, Walmart or any drug store
6. 6qt plastic shoeboxes w/lids<< Walmart for like $5 for 8 of em, in the laundry basket area
7. Horse Manure, get it already dried and leeched
8. Mini Greenhouse, @ Biglots for $20
9. Flourecent or CFL<< 6500k/ Cool White
10. Light timer, they need a 12/12 cylce
If I think of anything else I'll hit u up, any questions hit me up!! I pulled over 3lbs dried out of my first time

^^ Haha, beat me to it drolove! Figured I'd scrap the meth cooking idea and stick with shrooms & bud, leave the chemicals to the mexicans bongsmilie

Careful - growing mushrooms can be dangerous - watch contamination levels and spore production. One can get quite sick from certain toxins created by mold and they can possibly contract pulmonary problems as well. I am relatively sure I got pneumonia from over exposure to an unidentified black or very very dark green mold.

The earth's tongue method is a hybrid between "spawning" and casing and I don't recomend it. Think layers, the bottom layer is the one that is first colonized and has the most nutrient the top layer is the casing layer, you want your mycelium to grow upward into that top layer - the flatter the better only because you would rather not have some myelium beat others to the top (or more properly, just a tiny tiny bit below the surface)

if its for personal use just get a grow kit its easier, less hassle dont even have to worry about contamination, i bought an extra large grow kit that can yield over a kilo in dry weight over the course of its 7 flushes...
