O2 levels in an aeroponic chamber is definitely not off topic. I personally have not concerned myself with my own levels because I know I am adding more cubic feet of O2 in my system than any other system I am aware of.

I actually do aerate my res but not for the additional dissolved O2. I aerate alongside of adding H2O2 to help prevent bacteria growth and to keep my res from becoming stagnant. In this last test I cycled one 50 gal res for over 4 weeks and my res water still looks as clear as the day I mixed it. I think I took some pics and Ill post them if I can find em.

So, at least once per day I drop my bags to check out my roots. There're 40 gallons to start with, and the fact that I open them completely up everyday, makes me think my roots get all the o2 they need. Personally, I think you should ditch the 5 gallon buckets asap.

Nice, it sounds like a truly pristine environment... It just sounds fresh and clean... I really prefer the smell of fresh as opposed to musty chamber smell... :)

Thanks guys, I just wish I had more time to play with the system. Work and family has me pretty busy these days. Im barely able to make time to adjust PH. I upped my clone chamber to an ec of 1050 today, Ill let you know how it goes. I am getting fuzzies and the roots look much more decent with the second nozzle but I can tell where the mist is not quite penetrating as the upper areas of some of my roots are looking "fatigued" for lack of a better description.

I hear ya man. I have time lately to post here because my work is on computers all day, but when it comes to actually working on my HPA, that's a different story, not to mention being short on cash... Hope those fuzzies kick in, and perhaps that'll be enough to get the upper root areas more efficient. I like that you use EC, although barely anyone knows what a 1050 ec means... We should all use EC because it's universal...

New photo: It is growing fast. Alas, probably a male, but I have others in the bubbler. Mist cycle 1:5-6.5. Just increased this morning to 2: the Sentinel MDT-1 is not accurate at 1 second setting. Experiencing a bit of spittle after the cycle, though it does not spray.


Root shot was taken right after a mist cycle, so there are some droplets.

Here is a little update on the condition of my clones. The ones closest to the nozzles look pretty good but the ones in the center tend to brown due to lack of mist penetration. I believe the spacing in this rig is 3" O/C which is great for cloning but way to tight for normal growth. I try to rotate them as I feel necessary the brown one to the right was just moved. Overall they are in decent shape. There are small fuzzies but the pics taken with my phone don't do them justice.

lol,... not 'smelly' air :roll:... higher RH air is whats not ideal for the highest levels of thc production, but obviously in your outdoor grow you don't worry about that. But i wouldn't want to smell humid stale root zone air in my grow room, and thus why if pumping "air" NOT oxygen (because like i said, no ones got an oxygen tank there hooking to there aero setup, nor should they), into the buckets would be a bad idea. It would need to be vacuumed from the root zone, and i 'think' IF it's even worth trying at all, it'd be best to suck it slowly, from the bottom, which would draw in fresh air to the root zones constantly from the holes in the top without drying them.

Do you guys running DTW aerate your res solution? Given some of the facts I've read about hoe much oxygen water can hold, i tend to wonder if its worth the time/money to do so,.. thoughts?
My rez (inorganic) develops something funky fuzzy stuff floating around when I do not aerate my rez. It also clogs my filters. I began using a small WMart pump to little benefit, then switched to a strong pump + fine Oxy Stone and the rez has never been so pristine.

aj you still working with separately introducing air ?
??? My nozzles will not work without the addition of air into the chambers. They utilize air pressures between 30-60 PSI and fluid pressures between 40-70. I don't need to source a separate supply of atmospheric air to feed my chambers O2.
