Ak47 super frosty ready to harvest?

It has been hard not to cut them they look and smell and taste great such a great smell. This is my first time growing and will be my first harvest. i dont want to cut them to early if they are going to get bigger, was thinking to cut some that look ready and let the others go another week or two I have some bubblegum thats about 2 weeks behind the ak47. dont have a microscope to look for trichomes yet but i plan on gettting one after this harvest. these are in soil under 1000w HPS. Reply ASAP in Regards if you think they are ready for harvest please, I dont want to regret to early of a harvest. you can also zoom in on these pics they are high resolution. thanks in advance

dude, i had atleast 2 plants look EXACTLY like yours, and now that im thinkin about it, it coulda been some AK, cuz my shit was frosty like some snowmen and had the exact same look leaves as u do on urs

ak-47 is some good buds too! great grow you have. i would say these are ready to be harvested soon! Congrats!

They are clones from mother ak47 plant

Trichoman...Dude, they dont look done to me. Looks like you have to go a bit longer. Definately get a scope to check the trics. Those babies are too nice to harvest too early.

1. How long have they been flowering?
2. Do some research online regarding your seeds and length of flowering
3. Wait just a bit longer, you really want some of those hairs (non-tricomes)turn red/orange. When 35-40% of the hairs have turned, flush with only H2O for 1 1/2 weeks, then hang, dry, cure and enjoy.

they have been flowering for about 6 or 7 weeks now but i think they will get bigger i just dont want to lose potency and harvest them to late i want the head high and not the couch lock .

I'd say another 2-3 weeks wait till they are rock hard ..

Wrong. The hairs don't mean anything as far as when a plant is ready to harvest. I've had plenty of plants that the hairs never turned brown or yellow(White Widow). Looking at the Trichomes thru a lighted scope is the ONLY true way to tell how far along a plant is. Looking at the hairs is only a good way of guessing. Read the grow guides if you dispute this fact.

I'm not looking for an arguement, but I might suggest the same to you...read the grow guides regarding harvest time. If you want to be technical, you need to indeed look at the trichomes. Then you can guage what you are looking to get out of the buds. BUT, as a rule of thumb, you can guage your harvest time with the hair color. I will attach a quote of Expert guide to growing marijuana. "The optimal time to harvest marijuana plants is when THC production has reached its maximum. A rough guide as to when to harvest is to wait until 50%-80% of the white pistils (hairs) have turned dark (usually brown or red). But a better method of determining when to harvest is to wait until certain trichomes on the plant have matured."

You guys are both saying the exact same thing in 2 different ways.

And Meduser1980 even in your quote from a book IT is even saying it is better to check the trichs and that by looking at the hairs is just a ROUGH guesstimate.

p.s. Nice plants. I would say you are a week out from harvest maybe more but a trich scope is the best way to check to get the high you are looking for.

To bring up an earlier point, I would suggest never to harvest buds off one plant at two different times. The preparations you need to harvest (Flushing, long dark cycle, etc...) may have a negative effect on the maturation of the unharvested buds. this would mean you might be flushing the soil for up to two or three weeks and it really shouldn't be done for more than 8 days.

Hey thanks for your opinions thats what i was looking for, I know i should use a microscope and look at the trichomes just havent got one yet. this is my first harvest so i have \tossed alot of money to get all this started up. but it should get easier from here on out. I just started Aeroponics for reasons of more yeild and faster cycle. NUTE BURN? maybe a little but they seem healthy. I have been following the instructions. Anyhow thanks for the input. Its 420 i gotta go smoke now

I'm not looking for an argument either, just stating the facts. I've read some EXPERT advice on this site and on others that I found to be completely wrong, so I don't believe everything I read either. The fact of the matter is that the ONLY, TRUE way to tell if a plant is ready to be harvested is to look at the triches. For example, I grew a "White Widow" plant once. The only time the hairs on that turned tan, NOT even brown, was a week after I chopped it down. Another example that shows you can't go by the hairs is an "Ice" plant. If you wait for the hairs to turn tan or brown on that strain, the only thing it will be ready for is the trash. There are numerous other strains that the hairs don't turn colors on. Maybe back in the day when most ppl grew Columbian Gold or Panama Red, you could get an idea by looking at the hairs, but not with all the white strains out there today.
