56 days flowering
unknown strain - appears indica dominant
under 400 hps
sunday i cut out the nutes, giving her water only
nugs are quite dense and crystally...i would estimate 50/50 white to brown hairs

Now can anyone tell me how much longer she needs?

i wouldnt be asking this but my scopes batteries died and they dont seem to be common batteries.
so basically i need some help determining the ripeness of these buds.

looks like a matter of days maybe a week at the most. because it seems indica, i would wait until a greater percentage of the hairs are red/brown, probably something like 75% of the hairs. or if you have a regular magnifying glass, you can see the trichs pretty well to tell if they are starting to turn amber. if this was a satvia i would say harvest it tomorrow, but give it about 3 to 5 days. great job though man.

dude thats the whole reason i'm posting this..
the light on my scope is dead so i cant see anything to check the trics

can you tell me why you say harvest tomorrow if it were sativa?
i thought sativas took longer to finish and had flowering periods anywhere from 10-12+ weeks.

i ask because i also have a sativa dominant lady but she doesnt look close yet.
calyxes are small, but it has tons of hairs...almost all white or cream.

back to the indica lady...you say shes almost ready? i was going to try to hold out for another week and chop her down at the 10wk mark.

thanks for the help.

in my experience my satvias flowered earlier than the indicas. even right now i have an afgan that almost 100% indica and a widow thats 60% satvia, and the widow has more flowers on it right now. also i'd say harvest the satvia a little earlier because you want to harvest them when the trichs are a milky white color, it makes for a great head high, but for the indicas, i wait until i see the first signs of amber when they are a little more mature. i know you don't have a scope right now, but with a cheap magnifing glass you could start to make out the outlines of the trichs and see their color, it means they are more mature and have plenty of thc built up.
for the indica lady i would say about a week is good, but of course i do not know how fast your plant is developing. i can see ur growing in soil, so it will probably be more around a week, but i would still say about 6 days would suffice.
for the satvia, i would probably just wait a little longer then, probably just different types of genetics. but even for the satvias u still want the hairs 2 be about 60% red/brown b4 u harvest.

nice answer, thank you.

i always thought indicas had shorter flowering periods.
my sativa took a little longer to stop its stretch and produce flowers...so its a little behind.

ive searched my house for a magnifying glass but i didnt find anything.
my camera is the only thing i can get a good look at the buds with, but its not good enough to get good clear shots of the trics.

if only my scope worked...:cuss:

well if it is about a week, doesnt that give you plenty of time to hunt down the correct battery for your scope? Google you scope and mabey you can find the right type of battery

indicas do take shorter... the onl dominant sativa in a white widow is the high but growth is indica

my indicas have never taken shorter because i let them mature a little longer, plus they just don't mature as fast. just going off experience. i do have northern light x skunk that are about 90% satvia, and they also ready to harvest before the afgan.
different genetics do lead toward different harvesting times so it might just be that.

Use a flashlight in conjunction with your scope. No one is going to be able to tell , except you. Looks like you have a bit more time, but without seeing trichs it cant be told.
