Alphakronik Jackpot Royale [SuperSoil grow]

Hi RIU! I keep a randomly updated grow journal, but with that I am often way behind what I am actually doing at the time. This will be my first attempt at recording a specific grow from start(sorta) to finish. I have only been growing for a year now in my perpetual garden but have had little to no problems since switching to sub's supersoil method. This will be my first use of regular seeds as I have only grown from feminized and clones up till now.

Let's jump right into it.

Grow details:
- 5 REG Jackpot Royale seeds from Alphakronik obtained from a local dispensary.
- Veg under 1000W MH(Hortilux Eye) mixed in with my other plants.
- Slightly modified Super Soil recipe with the addition of Diatomaceous Earth, Neem Meal, Ground up Mosquito Dunks(Bti), and Alfalfa meal. I also use a base soil named Manna Mix.
- Will flower under 600X4(Hortilux Eye) HPS with other plants.

Now to get RIU all caught up. I popped these seeds a couple weeks ago, before I even thought of doing a grow journal for them. My method of germination was to put the seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours and then simply put the seeds approximately fingernail deep in 4" pots of Manna Mix. I no longer bother with CFL's for seeds and just go ahead and put them under the MH, though in the most distant corner from the light in the veg room as possible. I had a 5/5 rate germination and decided to transplant into 1 gallon pots.

Here we are now, starting to become well established in these 1g pots-- but no signs of sex yet. I am also hitting these with a spray of Dyna-Gro Pro-Tekt and Azamax once a week throughout veg.

I can't give you an exact age on these plants as I never really bother to write that sorta stuff down. As you can see, JPR #3 and #5 seem to be growing slightly taller than the other three. As more space frees up in the veg room, I will transplant into some 3g pots and wait to see which are females before proceeding to half 7g Super Soil pots for flowering! Up till now they have only recieved water and bit of H&G's Roots Excelurator.

Stay tuned as I plan to update this thread regularly enough to give a full report of the grow. Thanks for checking it out!

Okay folks, its been about two weeks since my last post and so I figure its time for an update. These plants are growing fast and are HUNGRY. I transplanted all of them from the 1gals and into 2gals. Since switching to super soil, I try to avoid having to feed my plants bottled stuff or even teas by doing a series of transplants before they're finally put into their half super soil 5/7/10 gallon pots. However, these plants are much too hungry! Alas, there just isn't space in the veg area right now to transplant until they show definate sex and a couple can be culled. I have ended up having to give em a bit of Alaskan Fish Fert. and some G.O. CaMg+ because I started to see some signs of deficiency in a few of the older/larger leaves. Anyway, on with the show!

These have all been topped once, but JpR1 and JpR3 are much "lankier" in their build. JpR5 looks overall the best to me so far, but still a long way to go.

As you can see, we are getting closer to being able to sex all these plants. I would prefer to know who the females are before flowering, but this is honestly my first run with Regular seeds. I have only done fems and clones up until now because I am generally a lazy bastard. I usually don't like to put any plants into my flower room until they are ready to pull 4-6oz.

Here is my attempt at comparison shots.

Stay tuned because we still have a long way to go! In my next post I hope to have determined sex and be transplanting into final pots. From there its a bit of cloning and then girls will be moved to the flowering room, where hopefully dankness will be achieved.

BONUS: Here are some more Alphakronik pics from my current flowering room:

This thread shall not die!

Just when you thought this was going to join all the other incomplete grows of RIU! Ok- so last night was day 70 of flower for both the plants that turned out female, JpR#2 and JpR#4. No big surprise that the biggest and fasting growing plants turned out the be males. These plants are very sensitive to nutrients and it seems that my super soil was even a bit hot for JpR#4, which leans more towards the Spacequeen parent in terms of bud structure. I have only used water throughout the entire lives of both plants. JpR#2 is EXACTLY as described described with "golf-ball sized, purple flowers covered in trichomes". #2 is being harvested today, but I think I will let #4 go another week or so. If the smoke nice up to par, I will be keeping JpR#2 in rotation while trying to dial her in a bit better.

JpR#2:

All my bud shots of JpR#4 were blurry, but I'll get some more before I chop:

So next time I will finish up this journal by posting bud shots of JpR4 as well as a smoke report and with some final thoughts on the grow. Thanks for looking!
