Alright Barack Obama supporters, now what?

Obama is talking about modeling his administration after FDR. Does that mean re-vitalized Social Security? Or national healthcare? Improvement of our National Forests?
What it really means is more government regulation of our economy. As long as Hillary Clinton is not involved I'll be ok.

People around here are buying guns like its going out of style. Obama and gun control. Charleston Heston is dead now what? The Clinton administration failed in their attempts at gun control because they had strong opposition from pr gun lobbies. Will it be the same for Obama? I really want the second amendment to stand personally.

Now what about another minor issue? Medical Marijuana? Will Obama stop federal raids in California?

Just some questions talking points ect. :peace:

Well said, CJ ... Honestly, I don't know where Med gets his ideas on economics, but he is so wrong that his posts aren't worthy of a response.

Right oh Obie-wan. You just cant get your head around common sense. You've been riding the gravy train so long you forgot what makes it run, the American worker. Now that we've gotten rid of so many liveable wage jobs, the train is off the rails, and your little niche is going to get clobbered. Can't say I feel sorry for you old pal, you've been through some big money years, and now you're crying like a baby, oh well. what goes around..................... Answer me this: when 50 thousand workers are laid off and there are no replacement jobs, how do they make those house payments? Now times this by 50 and and you may get the underlying problem, IE, no job-no house payment, collapse of the housing market, wall street and on and on. 2.5 million jobs lost under Bush. Now I'm no economist as you've said, but common sense says this can't be good for the economy. So VI, you braniac, tell me where I'm wrong here.

Believe it or not, in "theory" I understand the need for executive authority for line item veto, but I cannot compromise my conviction to believe in strict adherence to our constitution. The whole system is broken. IMO, bills should not be padded with additional pieces of legislation/spending. In doing so, it allows for corruption while pissing away representation. It also allows for an "easy out" when a politician can say something like "Well, I didn't agree with part "X" of the bill, but I agreed with part "Y"...so I voted for it. It's a cop out IMO.

No problem buddy.
Gosh yes. Nothing more to add to this, except to keep saying yes, yes, yes. It is SUCH a bunch of bs. I want my reps in congress watching out for me, not working deals.

Could be true, but We Americans have been through a lot of tough times and rebounded. Let's give Obama a chance to see if he is truly going to do what he campaigned on. It's no joke that the Bush years have just about sunk this country, and maybe she is going over the edge as we speak. All great nations have fallen, and we are not above this fact, but I'd like to think the great American can-do spirit will kick in and we'll dodge the fatal bullet. At this point, there is little the masses can do. We've spoken at the ballot box, now it is time to see if our choice pays off. I've wondered often why anyone would want the job of POTUS, shitty hours, low pay for the position, Half the country hates you, you have to make life changing decisions every day, fuck that, give me the GM CEO job. Run your company into the ground, make a shitty product, fuck over union employees, fly around in your personal jet (Company owned but at your service), make 30 million plus bonuses, now there is a job with perks.

Only because you believe it to be bro. America is built on ideas of freedom and liberty. As long as there are still people that believe in those ideas America will not be lost. Changed tremendously yes, but lost no.:peace:

The nation is not failing. Obama has been "talking down the economy" to get elected. It's a common ploy to fool the high percentage of citizens who are not informed nor care to check figures.

It is Congress which has sunk us financially, not the White House, let's be CLEAR about that. You know the same Congress we just returned to powah! Nicely fooled....nicely done....spin spin spin....whoops there goes your future.

Let me get this straight. Congress has screwed the pooch and your hero Bush has a lilly white record, Bahahahahahaha, Man you are delusional. I'd point out the error of your ways, but I know it would just go over your head. Good luck with that line of thinking. BTW are you looking for a position in the Bush industries?

Med, how on earth did you get that out of what Jax posted? Forgive me, I don't follow Jax around to see what s/he posts, but I don't recollect a single one where s/he's propping up Bush as the Golden Boy for America. How did you extrapolate the Bush bits?

What I got out of that post was that the people of the U.S.A. need to learn how to keep up, follow the bouncing ball. Maybe that's just me, though.

I think medicineman was medicated when he posted that 1,Jax has a point Obama was using common politics to appeal the masses but he was the lesser of both evils next to McCain in my opinion, at leaste Obama seemed like the more honest candidate when running for the Oval office.Congress is filled with to many old geezers who have served like 20 terms in office and havent done anything to make a difference in the last decade, except to protect their own interests, they need to be taken out and replaced every so often or we have the shit thats happening right now.
