Alternative powder to silicon pre mixed?

I using more ph up rather than replace ph up I want to use silicon for its additional benefits + raising the ph.

After a bit of time on Google I get potassium silicate and silicon dioxide as silicon for gardening, I don't understand the chemistry part so I'm asking which powder would I buy as a alternative to pre mixed silicon?
 
The potassium silicate is good stock I believe, can make all the solution you want with that. I have no clue about the silicon dioxide though. I would get the potassium silicate.

Bugbee mentions Wollastonite is real good for silica, but he had a strange tek where he would ph water to about 11 to get it to dissolve, then ph it back to normal feed levels. Just something to google about. He also said can crush it up into media.

99% of potassium silicate adds are for pre mixed silicon.

I don't mind the pre mixed as such I just want a diluted over priced version, potsil is 34% Si

I don't know anything about that product. It's diluted but the ratios are different than the Agsil.

I forget that much of what we get here in the states is not available in other countries.

They have this Verisil listed on Ebay UK but it ships from the US. Same formulation as Agsil. They say free postage. It comes in a 1 lb bag.

I use Growth technology liquid silicon

It’s potassium silicat which isn’t as readily available for the silicon to the plant as something like mono silicic acid but I only use it as pH up when I’ve gone under my target pH.

But I do mix it with a bit of plain tap water first and mix parts of that solution to my nutrient mix as raw potassium silicat can cause cloudiness and precipitation in the solution.

My mistake. I clicked on the the details link next to where it said free economy shipping. For some reason I thought the countries listed as Postage To was where it was free shipping but those are just the countries that they'll actually ship the product to. I should have caught that as I was wondering how they could ship from the US to the UK for free. Now I feel like a dummy. :mrgreen:

You want the majority to be from silicone dioxide. But the WP and silica is best absorbed foliar than by watering in. It must be used from the very start. Little to no benefit adding in partway through.

It's very good IPM for powdery mildew. Add a drop or two of liquid dishwashing soap to your mix for foliar.

Edit add: buy a pound on Amazon for $30 rather than paying $20 for 2 ounces in some grow shop.

Silicon dioxide was one that got a mention from google when I checked it out further growell said it's ph neutral, it's primarily for ph up?

No idea because I always apply foliar. Better absorbed foliar than through the roots in the first place. Doesn't affect feed pH at all this way.
