Am I correct in this assumption?

I'm not posting pics as this should be easy to understand. I'm growing Carmelicious in soil. Flowring time is supposed to be 8-9 weeks, and plants are at about 7.5 weeks. Buds are simply glossy with trichs and smelling wonderful.

My question is this. tips of leaves sticking out of buds are yellowing ever so slightly. Am I right to assume plants are done and ready to be harvested?

That is a sign of the plant maturing, but I wouldn't base my harvest on that. If a breeder tells you a plant will be done in 8 to 9 weeks it might happen in that time, or your pheno(s) could be off considerably. Go out and get a 13 microscope from Radio Shack. That will allow you to check the trichomes and see if they are mature.

I have 30X loupe, and a lot of cloudy trichs with a few amber. Was waiting for more amber as I grow for a patient who wants to be knocked out at bed time. Just thought I'd ask.
