Am I going to get busted or am I just Paranoid

About noon today a police chopper circled my house then my neighbors then flew off. After about an hour I got extremely paranoid and chopped my only plant down. Police choppers rarely fly over our neighborhood and the fact that they circled my house made me freak out. My plant was almost ready, maybe a week of so from finish so I'm not to sad about chopping but I am still worried about a knock at my door. How many days am I going to have to worry or is one plant just not worth it to the authorities to go after a single plant. How long does it usually take for the cops to get a warrant and follow up on a flyover. Man I'm bummed.

Thanks man, I tend to freak out about ghetto birds. Its just that he came in pretty low, about 100 feet and the plant is now pretty visible since the vineyard in which its growing has started dying back and my plant now towers above the grape vines. I guess I'll just have to wait a few days and see what happens.

your good man, I dont think there is a single place in the world where the government has its head so far up its ass that they send out a helicopter to check on some dude growing one plant. hopefully

Uh, NO. You did the right thing. They were probably looking for more. Same sort of thing happened in my area, but the heli was very thoroughly working its way from downcountry to upcountry. A week later (after I moved all my plants under the deck THREE times, because it kept leaving--presumably to re-fuel--and returning) I read about a huge bust by the DEA and local LE.

I got pictures of the motherfuckers in action, RIGHT over the treetops, low, just like you described.

I'm nno saying he didn't do the right thing, I would have done the same if I lived in a rural area, but I just don't think its very likely thats what they were doing.

Sierra Nevada mountains. LOTS of timber preserve and undeveloped land. You may have read of some of the big busts the last couple of months in our mountain areas of Cali. There's no way this country can easily be scoured by foot. Why do you think it's taken so long for them to find anything of Steve Fosset? Plus, my line of reasoning is this: They may not be looking for ME, but if they run across me, why not bag me if I make it easy for them?

And see, here's the thing. I know they were out looking for the cartel guys and other big growers. But! They were SCOURING the whole area, I'd listened to them working their way up for HOURS. Then, next thing I know (good thing it was the time of year it was and warm and all, or I might not have realized) they were literally on top of us. Figure eights and circling, west to east, south to north. They came back the next day, but were further south and east of us, but I could hear them.

So, I watched them over the next ridge, then they left. Cool, they're not coming back. Then, FUCK! They're back and they're closer! Kept happening, so I bring the plants under. Then they leave. Gone for over half an hour, I figure I'm golden. Take 'em back out. Then they're back again! What the fuck? Bring everyone back in. Heart pounding this time cuz they're a lot closer. Then they work their way away from me, cool, maybe they're just working their way along the major roads. Everyone goes back out again. Before I know it they are on TOP of us, literally. As in blowing the trees around that low on top of us. But they're on the other side of the house so I just grabbed everyone and SHOVED, heart really pounding this time!

I took pictures of the motherfuckers. Oh yeah, they were burning through TONS of fuel, believe you me. (And I am not the paranoid type.) The following photos were taken over a period of time. They gave me that much time to get the camera, focus, take a few shots, then they'd come back, I'd take a few more, and so on. Pix are totally out of order. And when they were on top of us I was too scared to take pix, I figured that's poking at the tiger.

do you live anywhere near the flume? they use the choppers to check the flume. people steal water from it. my buddy has a house up there and the same thing happened. except the cars came. two black sedans pulled in his driveway. said they saw hoses from the air. thought he was tapped into the flume. wasn't him but his neighbor.

why would anyone steal water? lol

i guess it gets expensive.:eyesmoke:

we used to take garbage bags up to the flume. you crawl inside the flume and hold the bag open in front of you. lay down and hang on. the current of the water takes you for a nice wild ride. only problem is walking back on top of the flume. if you slip you're f%cked. :blsmoke:

Ok, so the general consensus is that the flyover wasn't directed at me and it wasn't because a neighbor reported me. It makes sense to me that if someone reported me that they would have sent out a black and white and a couple of cops to check it out because its just to costly to send a chopper out to check out one plant.
But if they accidently saw the plant while on some other business would they go for a warrant or would they send out the black and whites to check it out.
I gotta get me a prescription if I'm going to grow any more.
The only plus is that my plant didn't get rained on by the NorCal storms this weekend. But the downer is that I hit it with BT a couple days ago and I didn't get a chance to rinse it off.

I know times are tough right now and not everyone has the extra cash flow but just some advice. I got my letter and card to grow legally in California I am only growing 2 6' plants and one I cloned its only like 3 1/2 ' but is all bud. I am married with 2 straight A honor roll kids in elementry and jr. high. I am respected in my town and by many people.

My family is a major contribitor to the system my wife and I both work we are what I call middle class we aint white trash but we are redneck lol lol
(yes theres a difference) Born and raised in Texas got the 4 wheel drive and shotgun LOL LOL

My wife and I dont drink but we do like to come home and smoke a bowl to relax after busting our asses off all day to pay our taxes to help do our part in taking care of the rest of the lazy welfare stealing fucks.

anyway the point is and this is no BS I have to much to loose as you can see. I have a jail fund set aside incase I go to jail also I have an lawyer on stand by I seriously have already paid him a retainer fee so the minute I get popped by Feds ( if this happens) all I got to do is make one phone call and I am out. (cant miss work, I got bills LOL)

The attorney laughed when I contacted him with my plan and he said you are legal no need to take such drastic measures. I then showed him a pic of my family and said nothings to drastic when it comes to there well being.

If yall are that paranoid buy some insurance get it all lined up. This was my first grow I did great (use to work the farm back home so I know alittle and the rest you wounderful people helped me out thanks to all of you.

Next year I am growing Trees garunteed so the extra peace of mind is well worth it. Just some friendly advice.

I personally cant see any law enforcement agency getting interested in 1 single plant. Maybe they seen it and were taking a closer look for more. I know someone who had the law come to their house with a search warrant for something unrelated to growing pot and while searching the yard found about 5 plants. They said they had to take em since they seen em but that was it. They did advise to get a card to make it legal. Now if you are a shady character and have been in trouble with the law and they are just itching for a reason to come into your home, now thats a different story. They may be able to use the plant sighting as justification.

haha flumes look funny!
what are thoes spikes sticking out of the helicopter in thoes pics, looks weird.
whenever theres helicopters over my house they say NYPD I never see plain helicopters like that flying around doing weird shit, you people live in weird places, move to a city!
I live down across the street from the projects so I have helicopters flying over my house daily, my neighbors house was actualy hit by a helicopter just a few months ago, silly pigs, I always I knew they couldn't fly!

I think if they did see anything, you probably would already know, and if not by now, you'll definetly know by the end of the week. I dont think they would need a search warrent to search your house f they saw that plant, I think it would fall under the plain view cluase, but maybe not, since they had to be in a chopper to see what was going on, and it is considerd illigal to use high tech surveilance without a warrent, unless they are in fact looking at your neighbors, or somone close by, than they can "accidently" see whatever they want.

I don't know if I live near any flume, I've never heard of one. This is the article about the bust. Amador Ledger Dispatch
If you people saw how these mountains were being absolutely scoured you'd be as blown away as I was. My husband called one of his coworkers who's a volunteer firefighter because the guy often knows what's going on in the area (and he's got a radio). He told Dave that it was just some type of pilot familiarization program for life flight services. BULLSHIT. There is no way the county, which has enacted a hard hiring freeze and taken other measures to seriously chop its budget, could afford the fuel and time spent covering the ground that I witnessed just in the few miles that I can see around us. There are already known landing sites, and they AIN'T in our neighborhoods.

I think 4personal is on the right track. Keep an attorney on retainer, liquid capital for bail, keep your shit tight.

I still hold my previous stance--they may not be looking for me, but why offer myself up so easily? If they can easily make the bust they will, especially DEA. Why? Because, it makes them look productive. Keep your shit tight.

So the power company came and changed my meter yesterday . . . two weeks after I started using 600W hps for the first time. Said the 'transmitter" wasn't working.
I didn't kill my 4-6 weeks veg plants, or the two in week 6 of budding. I figure if they have me, I'm toast.
I ain't sellin' nuttin' and am a senior, in a legal state but not yet willing to get on any list . . . and I'm just a little over that legal limit.
