Am I going to regret growing perpetually?

Hey guys, I already have a 2x2 tent and a 4x4 tent. I'm a student and also work atm and I've been thinking of buying a 2x4 for veg and keep the 2x2 for clones and the 4x4 for flower. Anyone here has experience on perpetual growing? It's amazing that you can harvert like once a month or even sooner but I assume it's gonna take A LOOOOOT of my time. Any advice? Should I just keep using the 4x4 and grow there from seed?

If you're growing for yourself. Family.

Where are you going to put all this bud? There's only so much you can smoke before going to sleep. Will you be able to smoke up the reserve before the fresh?

How long do you think you're going to store it?

Looks into sub irrigated planters a lot of work at first ...then virtually nothing until trim time really.

Good point buddy. I'm not not a huge smoker but my bro is. I don't know if it sounds stupid but I prefer growing than smoking. It's an amazing hobby for me and I find peace. I only smoke when I trip to increase visuals or when I'm watching a movie. I just like to see my plants growing and trying many different strains. Maybe I will send you some buds :D

That's cool

Then better tell him to roll bigger. Lots bigger. Busting through the jars.

Will check them out brother. Thanks for the input. Do you grow perpetually and if yes, how often do you harvest?
I'm just getting into it but have 2 rooms finally all set up the led cobs and will just be doing a harvest every 8 - 10 weeks always have stuff in flower is the idea. I still need one more room for drying but I have 100 gallons of organic soil cooking. And about 7 flowering now. Just waiting on my next Bodhi stash to come in to start my next round. I'm a little behind waiting on them to get here with all the mail delays during the holidays.

Respect but if he's selling it.

Don't hand him a half pound. Ounce or two. Don't go dumping free inventory onto the market.

That's bad. Lots of people pay bills from slinging weed. Don't mess with that.

the time spent on your setup depends on what levels on automation you set up.

auto watering saves time
smart plugs attached to pumps mean you can feed while away(if you set your tank ahead of time)
make sure you don't fill up the veg tent to quickly, the flower tent usually goes past its deadlines unless your running clones that you know the finish time for

Holy shit that's gonna take some time! Will you be growing with supersoil or just using organic nutes? Heard the best about Bodhi but haven't grown any of his strains yet.

I say give it a shot, you will know one way or the other and nothing says you can't change your mind later. it is cool to always be pulling something down every month. I also liked it bc I didn't have to deal with trimming the entire batch at once. I did my closet in 3 rows so I only had to deal with 1/3 at a time. also less space needed for hanging.

Will say one of the biggest downsides I found is that by having something always going in flower you never get the downtime to do a deep clean or re set up your space.

Im taking 2021 easy. Will still probably stagger the tent a bit so I can deal with not having to harvest all at once, but only going to run 2 or 3 harvests total in the big tent. that yields me plenty for the stash.

Hey buddy! I've seen some videos and read some articles. I've been thinking 4 plants vegging in the 2x4 for 6 weeks, take some clones and grow the healthiest, and move the 4 plants in the flower tent or something like that. I already have 1 Meijiu 240w QB for the 2x4 veg(240w in a 2x4 seems low though) and 2 Meijius 240w QB for the flower tent. Do you grow perp as well?

Def not. You made a good choice getting two tents and getting into cloning. You will have a better and more consistent product and you will be self sufficient not relying on buying seeds.

As for how much work it is, I think it depends if you have a plant count. If you do, and you want to stay legal, you may have to do longer veg and bigger plants (which will mean training to maintain an even canopy). If you don't have a plant count, you can just do a SOG, which is less work. Either way its not gonna take a lot of time at all. If you grow with soil you can water once a week. If you grow with soilless media you can fertigate every 48 hours or so. Generally, you can spend as much time or as little time as you want.

I like to have all my plants the same age in the flower tent. So I harvest every 8-9 weeks. I take clones 1-2 weeks into flower, so after 1-2 weeks for the clones to root it ends up being a 4-5 week veg.

Start growing in the 4 x 4. When your plants are filling up about 2/3 of the tent cut some clones from the lower branches and flip to flower.

Root your clones in the 2 x 2. Then put those clones in some pots and veg them in the 2 x 2 until your plants finish flowering in the 4 x 4.

You don't need a complex 2 week rotation or anything special. Just cut clones from the plants you're about to flower and repeat.

Hey buddy, thanks for the input. Yeah I think will give it a shot eventually. I already have 3 Meijiu QBs 240w and have the two tents. Only need a 2x4 and a light for clones I guess. Yeah you right, can you imagine if you get pests or something in the flower tent? You're fu****.

Hey amigo! How many plants would you "SoG" if you were in my shoes? Yeah most people recommended me a 4-6 week veg cycle. Do you think my Meijiu 240w would be enough for vegging in a 2x4?

It really depends on how restricted you are with legal plant numbers. A lot of people are restricted to like 4 adult and 4 immature plants, so you could veg out fresh seeds while flowering the others, but what happens when you come across a special plant that you want to keep? You either break the law or stop your perpetual grow and start keeping mommies as part of your legal #. For me, a special plant is more important than maintaining a perpetual grow...but I'm also not satisfied the way things are and am getting an upgraded license to grow more. In terms of time/effort, it's easy to ramp up your numbers, a simple dtw coco reservoir setup is simple to put together.
