How large are those numbers? We've been hearing about the cadillac driving welfare recipients for thirty years, but I've yet to see someone give up their job to go live in section 8 housing.

lol well duh, thank you captain obvious. the american dream.... who needs it? lol your so negitive and pessimistic about this country, but i'll tell you this... the american dream is for each person to define, instead of the material version we have been fed which has been rejected over and over again. I mean, come on, have you not read Fitzgerald or anyone of the sort?

The American dream used to be that you worked until you had enough money to buy land and become self sustainable with your family. That was the freedom everyone was working for.

It happens every day.. People get intentionally fired or layed off to reap the wellness.. I live in one of the top 15 welfare states in the U.S. Our new governor is cracking down on it.. So much fraud and false reporting not to mention all the people that are making 300+/week working under the table and still collecting the benefits...

The funny thing is is that I haven't worked for a few weeks because of the rain and I am absolutley starving with about $20 to my name and I still won't apply for EBT. If we don't take money from the gov we will pay less taxes and if we pay less taxes we will have more money.. All we are doing is wasting money by paying for others who are less responsible.. Maybe if people had some insentive to get a job like, idk, being really really hungry, then we wouldnt have such a high unemployment rate.. The jobs are out there you just have to look..

As far as the "American Dream" that's not a myth but it is long gone.. It's not possible anymore.. Big industry and big gov has made it so hard to make any profit these days. The cost of living is so high and still climbing, while the pay checks stay the same..
