I agree that media dumbs down our culture. I still think that there is a anti-education bias among the general population in the US that is not present in other countries. Trump is our president. Can't blame family guy for that.
it is here. is it no where else? what is the cause of this? i don't blame family guy but fox only portrays the left as a joke. i belive i know the cause for the most part as i know enough history(always learning) and i can see what happens day to day. i see alot of cause and effect btwn citizens then the media over hypes or buries what is going on always obscuring the facts of the game .

Ever watch an old movie theater series of shorts call "Our Gang" or "Little Rascals"? The shorts were made between 1929 and 1935 or so. There are plenty of scenes depicting the kid-scholar as a freak. Abraham Lincoln recounted his father discouraging him from reading, telling him it was a waste of time. This attitude goes way back in our culture. It could be that this country had so much building-out to do that an education wasn't needed for the most part. Maybe it's part of our attitudes against Old World aristocracy.

I was listening to interviews of French people after the election and one of the more disturbing things they felt about Le Pen was her appeal to ignorance when it comes to issues and other people. Other cultures don't have the same disrespect toward education that we see here and it's not a new phenomenon.

Most of those kids died in pretty crazy ways.

I'm glad to tell you your wish has already been fulfilled

Truck-driving Alabama man arrested after videos of him threatening bicyclists goes viral

An Alabama man who posted videos of himself complaining about bicyclists has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.

I guess I was theoretically aware that such people existed - but the thought that he felt so secure as to publish it is repugnant.

I should take no comfort in that he looks exactly the way I think he would - but I do.
