I am going to Amsterdam in Aug. Has anybody been there recently? I'm completely stoked.

Yes, I go 3-4 times a year (for work---but I often add a few vacation days there).

What area are you staying? I'd suggest either Dam square or Leidseplein

Last time i went it was about 3 years ago the smokeing shit brick didnt hit the fan yet. Make sure u u go to the green house seed company best weed their also i liked the Grasshoper and the bulldog was really kool 2. As for the ho's watch out for the men dressed in women cloths once u push deep into the redlight district.Plus the deeper you go into it the crazyer it gets so watch that wallet

KATTENGAT ONE is the address (i think). Not sure what part thats in. Using the time till then to find out all I can. It's hard to even imagine walking in some where and ordering smoke.

Any menu suggestions?

I have been 3 times. The last time was last fall. My coffe shop reccomedations are

1. Grey Area. (is a MUST MUST MUST) Best weed in the Dam
2. Any of the Barney's coffee shop. I went to Barney's breakfast bar
3 Central coffee shop. Great selection of great weed and Hash. Fair prices too!

If you have any question about transportation or accomadations let me know! I reccomend Camping at Camping Zeeberg. Just 15 minute tram ride into the heart of the city!! it costs like 15 euros a nigh if you bring a tent. They also offer cabins but you will have to book for one in advance. If you campng just show up no resevations required

I was less than impressed with the quality of weed at the bulldog shops. Bland tasting super silver haze and their white widow was grown like shit and not properly flushed and cured! I brought the joint up to the counter and asked for somthing els they gave my huge additude and said "deal with it" YTou should watch out for shit like this.
Get a map and study it!! The streets of amsterdam are a maze of bridges canals and pedestrian streets. It is very very easy to get turned around and lost when your so high!

Excellent! If I had to be lost and high I would want it to be on bridges and canals of Amsterdam.

I'm already worring about having a kid in the candy shop syndrome. If you could pick a smoke that gives you a nice happy social high what would it be and from where?? Every try any hash or shrooms?

No shroomz. We get enough of those in Canada. And I wouldnt want to trip while trying to enjoy my vacation. Hash yes!! I really liked it at central coffee shop. For a social smoke. Chocolope and G13 Haze. The G13 Haze is even more social. Ask the Bud venors at the shops you visit. tell them what your looking for in the way of high and they will help you out. There are so so many strains to choose from

I've never tried mushrooms either. Not going to start while on vacation either. I'm sure I'll stay comfortably high. Besides I kinda like to see some things while I'm there and remember them.

Like a travel brouchure for Amsterdam.

Oh yeah, dont limit your self to sitting in coffee shops! its easy to do. Amsterdam is a beautiful city with many sites to see. I also recommend visiting Utrecht Smaller than Amsterdam but just a beautiful! It is very nice aswell. I prefer the canal boat tour in utrecht better than Amsterdam

I'd also make some time to go to the Heineken brewery...well worth it plus u get 3 drinks at it.

i used to live near utrecht and mattso is right its a BEAUTIFUL city. might wanna check out the anne frank house as well, also some very nice tours through cathedrals as well.
