Another 737 drops out of the sky in China, when will the government ground these flying coffins.
The 737 Max was the one that had safety issues. The Boeing 737-800 is an older aircraft that has long and good safety record. Chinese state owns the airline and they too have a good safety record. Of course, something went wrong that caused this. Takes time to figure out why.

The 737 Max with the MCAS system is the problem model. If you haven’t watched it yet, this is a really good documentary on the development of the 737 Max.

Spoiler Alert: Boeing knew there was a problem and attempted to blame the pilots for the Jakarta crash.

Looks to me like a suicidal pilot, then a intervention by the co-pilot would explain the brief recovery from the nosedive, other than that scenario it makes no sense,China hasn't had a crash in 10yrs. and this version of the 737 has a pretty decent safety record,so until the box is recovered all I can ascertain by the flight path is a Kamikaze pilot w/emotional issues who wanted to die and a co-pilot fighting for control to explain the brief recovery. What a terrifying way to die for the passengers and crew.

Early 737s were my least favorite plane to fly on due to their short chord producing a bumpy ride
Stretched 8s here, all the cheap Apollo-era charters ran ‘em. First jumbo I experienced was astonishingly quieter and more stable. Chord plus (I believe) wingloading .
