Another humidity question

G'day all,

Got a question about humidity, I live where its pretty normal to be 75%-80% humidity most of the time except perhaps in winter time.

If i do a flood and drain setup with the res covered, run a 600watt hps, have fresh air intake from outside and a active exhaust which is changing between 15-20 times the air volume in the room per hour roughly how much of a drop in % would i see compared to the outside humidity?

Or do would i definately have to purchase a dehumidifier?

Cheers

If you bring in outside air that is lower than inside it will lower the humidity
but how much who knows? You will have to monitor it and play with it till you
get it right.

hi,

Ok sorry iguess i mixed up my question a bit what i mean is there any chance of getting lower %humidity inside a grow room then what the ambient % humidity is outside?

I thought maybe lights on period would help to dry the air out a bit but then when lights off happens the humidity will rise back to the equal ambient of what is outside.

proper ventilation/ some fans will do the trick... and if even then that doesn't work then go with a dehumidifier.

No, if you want to lower the humidity below ambient you need an active system (ie dehumidifier) to remove the moisture.
