The long and short of it is ive grown many years outdoors with very good results.Last year I had to move indoors for the most part and yes I bought into I could produce decent results in a 4x4 with 2 mars 300s and a 300w viparspectra. After two grows with very poor results and reading and double checking all i can find on my soil and air im pretty sure I need more light? Where do I start, do I need to replace the lights I already have or is there a way to supplement the lighting till i can afford to a higher quailty light system?

Mars can be hacked for their drivers, heatsinks, fans, switches and even diodes. If you were to supplement the diode boards inside the fixtures amongst some nice white cobs or Quantum Boards you can do it on the cheap like I did recently.IMAG0332.jpg

If plants weren't healthy there could be other issues to examine but 15-20 par watts per foot is a general recommendation. You probably have 8-9 par watts per foot with the lamps you have now, so plenty of room for adding more light. Whether you do a full replacement, move those lights to the side and buy something nice for the other side until you can afford replacements, or DIY like Airwalker suggests is up to you.

Thanks for the input. Plants all where healthy in organic soil.Problem is slow growth & yeild, size of buds.Im leaning towards QBs so i add on later. What would be a good size to supplement the lights i have now? Ive been reading more on the newer LEDs just having a hard time wrapping my head around where to start,
