Hey, so i need advice from an electrician. I just bought a JBJ 1HP Chiller (208/230V-1PH-60Hz). and can't figure out how to hook it up. i was told i could plug it into 240V plug. also, no one said it wouldn't have a plug on the end lol. :?

but am confused, im hoping i just need to connect the wires (3: 1black, 1white &1green) to a plug (Nema 6-15 or Nema 5-15) and plug it into my 240v

I have a MLC-4x. its 240V 30amps. Two 1k lights are plugged in with seperate timers (so i can turn off lights but still have the power to the MLC on so i can have chiller when ever its needed).

i hope this will all work together, i was told it would at the store, but some info was left out and im all confused now.

So whats the difference in 208/230V and just regular 240V? other things on the net ive been reading make me believe that the chiller will work fine plugged into the MLC-4X, but everything on the net about the 208v is about welders not chillers.

any and all help is greatly appreciated! i need to hook up the chiller as soon as possible too. so thanks for your help :)

alright i just need pics or more info to help you out. So all there is on the chiller is one white, one black , and one green? sounds like there should be one 240v wire , one 208v wire and a 120v wire, plus the one green and one white?
alright is also depends on what part of the world you are in? if US then you cannot use the 208v because that is 3 phase electricity (ussally only found in warehouse's and commercial building's) Your home (if US) is only 2 phase electric ..(you have 3 wires comin in the house.... 2 - 120's and one neutral and Maybe a ground ) that means you only have access to 120v and/or 240v and also the only way to get 240 is to run 2 -120's ( ex. the plug that your MLC is on should have 2 seperate 120v wires and one neutral (a neutral is the same as a ground)
so can you send me a link to your chiller or a pic and i can help you wire it up! one more thing is , you said your breaker for your MLC is 30 amps and you have 2 -1k lights ? well IF them lights are wired to run on 240v then you have plenty of amps left over to use, IF the lights are running on 120v then you are drawing about 18 or 19 amps which means you only have a few amps left before your maxed out on that one breaker................its kinda hard to explain so i'll just wait for you to respond.
oh yea fill me in on what a MLC is too please? master lighting controller ?
i dont think there is a difference between 230 and 240..........................alot of folks here call 120v , 110 and vice versa .
