I'm from 907 too and have wanted to grow outdoors for a while now, but unfortunately for us I don't think it is possible. It just doesn't get dark enough up here to induce flowering, which is a damn shame. I suppose you could transplant back indoors, but that sort of defeats the purpose. This isn't to say that cannabis won't grow; a buddy of grew a few out in Chugiak, but they never flowered and eventually died. I've now started thinking about growing poppies up here, as those will flower.

aiight thanks for the input, but i think it may be different if i use an autoflower like an 11 week harvest? maybe start indoors for 3 weeks then plant outdoors early june? leaving her 8 weeks to flower since she is an autoflower? idk ill try it out and pm u

if you use autos they may flower but because in anchorage by the time the light cycle hits 12/12 it is past freezing temps and your SOL. You could grow indoors with sunlight if you have an aviary or a larger sun room in your house(common in alaskan architecture) im sure you could do so but, make sure it is away from your neighbors view.

I've been wanting to try some of the Iranian Autos; that might just be the ticket up here.

Wondering if West Coast Seeds "Donkey Dick" would work in a greenhouse, around Anchorage? Clones, obviously.

Anything would work Haricot, but you'd have to have a way to regulate the light down to under 12 hours for long enough for them to finish without freezing. I know it's a hardy plant and can withstand cold but it gets COLD here.

Yeah, cold it does get. Along with the long light hours. Doesn't seem like a good combo for success. Kinda makes you wonder about how they do it in the valley. Must be all indoors, too.
Thanks for the reply.

in the valley they use hot houses (insolated/heated outdoor green house). There is no really true outdoor bud grown in AK, its just impossible.

I'm growing autos outside right now here n Alaska. First time I've done it but from what I've been told autos are epic outdoors in alaska 3-4oz per plant. They are already about 3G the size of autos I've grown indoors and haven't even started showing preflowers

Thats one weeks growth got a journal on another site I'll pm u link if u would like send a msg

Hey, so how are the outdoor girls doing? since it has been raining so much lately I am wondering if they are loving it or hating life right now. Did they ever start to flower?

oh my gosh they are soooooo beautiful!! Gratz on the gorgeous ladies ;-) didn't mean to turn this into a grow journal haha but I guess it is on topic... so please keep us posted on the end result. Although I am sure you aren't the first to grow outside up here, this is a pretty good record proving it can be done. good luck on finishing them out.

Wow Delux, those are some beauties!! Are you going to finish those inside? BTW, I heard that somebody bought some land up in the valley and the buyer found 8 connex's buried on the property and were full of growing gear. The dumbass turned it into the cops.

Yeah alaska has got to be the most optimal conditions for autos when I grew autos indoors they where about 1.5" - 2" tall yielded just over 6 oz off 9 plants.

These on the other hand are
Bout 4 feet

And bushes rather than a single cola like most autos grow

U asked for update njoy

The smurberries already smell JUST like blueberry muffins so good smelling I didn't believe they would till I smelt it myself can't wait to taste em

Nice grow! From my experience with autos a bigger yield can be had by vegging them inside on 24 hour light to a desired height before putting them out. your yield would have increased if you had put them in much bigger pots or smart pots. Just a few ideas but its still a nice grow
