Speaking of perlite, does the pro-mix hp have enough in it for drainage or do people generally add more?

I'm going to be trying this outside this year instead of the FFOF.
If your adding in any ewc or compost then I’d add a few handfuls. If your bottle feeding then no.

I had problems the last 6 months with Promix. Started to have very bad acidic issues. Adjusted my nutrient feeds to 7 plus and problems gone.

Love the no bug issues. No other problems with Promix at all.

I have never grown in ProMix........but I'm curious.
What is the feeding schedule for ProMix?
Is plain water ever used?
Do you always feed to run off?

Same as coco. You can get away with a water here and there depending on how big of pot. I had good luck with it in a 5 gallon. Feed to runoff every 2 days.

I have been growing in pro-mix so long every square inch of my property has perlite on it :weed:

Good stuff
lol mine too. my veg garden looks like promix
we used to grow in a farmers feild beside my friends place. they were Mennonites or something and had no idea what weed is lol. so wed plant around the fallen trees as they wouldnt harvest the hay around that so they wouldnt damage equipt. we dug so many holes and filled with promix that land was like swiss cheese. you could find your hole by stepping around and finding the soft soil lol. later the land was bought and developed. id love to see the guys face digging the foundations. lol. must have looked hilarious digging up so much promix. lmao

feed schedule is on your nutes.
yes i use plain ro (maybe a bit of silica and calmag) every 3rd or 4th watering just to help move the salts through the plant.
I never feed to run off with promix. if you get run off you watered too much

its def got enough. i find hp dries out fast and can leave salts behind if youre running a hefty feed schedule. i use bx

really you feed to run off? i find if you do the pots hold way too much water. im always on the less water is more. id rather feed my 4gal pots 2ltr every 2 days. the plants grow better with more air in the soil. when its saturated i find the growth will slow until the pot dries a wee bit. so i dont over water

I'm using Promix HP for the first time this grow and so far (week 8 flower) and I am loving it, plants have never looked better. I have not adjusted the pH either since everything has looked great throughout (finally). I'm using the GH Flora Trio and I'm happy with this combo so far.
I was going to mention, the PH is 7.5 in my tap water, I also use HP with no PH adjustment. The plants absolutely love everything about the medium, especially since I add about 25L - 35L of perlite to the mix

It’s and inert medium just like coco. No fear of over watering feed to runoff to remove the salts. Now just like coco you can feed less and get away with just water here and there. But basically most of the big growers in peat feed to runoff.

strange. never heard of that. ive used pmix for many years and only runoff if im having an issue.
maybe the bx is a little diff because it holds more water.
coco is def different you can flood litres through it and plants wont wilt but with pmix too much water can cause wilting and slower growth
at least thats what i find

Then your feeding is on point. Just the right amount you can do the same with coco. Just don’t let it dry right out. Then it needs a good flush. With food.
