Any runners who use Cannabis?

Iv met only a handful of people who puff and run. Apparently Im supposed to watch TV and eat Chinese food.
Iv heard that the neurotransmitters for running are very similar to THC (every incarnation). Feel good brain chemistry to reward one from escaping from lion or running after a woolly mammoth.

Eatings gotta be the best Iv found but vaping or smoking (not ideal) is more practical. Just was curious about experiences other runners may have had.

I run a minimum of 4 miles a day. I only vape anymore and after working out at night.

I know many people who use CBD for running to help ease the inflammation and increase endurance

Cool thanks folks, hells yea on the CBD. Im still having problems figuring a smoking system for running.
Vape is it, but they dont work in Vermont in the winter.

My favorite is dabbing but thats impossible on the trail. I currently have these ceramic bats you can get on ebay and a mini lighter.

Do people who vape find that works well, stony enough? Its just so practical.

I love my pax 3. You can load it with flowers or concentrates.. OR you could load with flowers and have the concentrate oven loaded also and in apack or something and then have flowers and concentrates on the trail. My one complaint would be the small amount of concentrate you have to use at a time. But otherwise it is great. I guess not cheap either but its a sweet set up.

Hum my local shop recommended that Pax system. Im still not sold on the vaping of flower. Maybe just in my head and I think I have to hack my lungs out to get stoned.

But they would also handle wax better then my O.Pen maybe bigger battery. Yea can only set it up for one hit that way?

Vapes can be surprisingly strong and potent. The new Ghost MV1 is super powerful and produces clouds that some would confuse for combustion.

At the recent Champs trade show I learned about the Huni Badger e-dabber. That might be another good option if you want to dab on the go. It's designed to be portable and made for travel/hiking/biking

The mighty is my go to portable vape for dry herb and works really well.
Also just picked myself up a new pair of brooks ghost 11’s :blsmoke:

Brooks shoes are listed in the new runners world. Personally I like an off road shoe (Altra Lone Peak) for trails and stuff. Running roads in public is fun super baked as everyone just thinks your a runner.

Vape can be super concentrated, Cali they were potent. Something really nice about vape is getting the high numbers of thc and cbd, those really work for running. Instead of carbon.

I ordered a mini battery and .5 refillable cartridge. Want to get this "Dabaratus" is a 1g extract WITH terps added back in. Then fill said cart. Has anyone seen that thing? Looks like something a heroin junky would have.

I'm not a fan of the altra's they tend to tear my feet up. I used to run asics all the time but quality has dropped especially in the nimbus and kayano line which is what i ran in.

106 is great congrats and of course no one thinks a stoner could do that, ha. I was running in Cali and some attractive women saw me smoking/running and laughed. Im not sure I would receive the same here in Vermont.

Olympic Committee recently took CBD off list of performance enhancing drugs. Maybe Im just stoned in thinking this is helping me but it sure is fun!

What up y’all, my first post here. Have a little project this place has been helping me with of course but I saw this post and had to comment.

When I’m stoned I pretty much have to be doing something.

I actually like high intensity interval training (HIIT) more than distance now. When I was younger I did a lot of distance running but I started to notice it was taking a toll on my joints. Some people never have this issue. I was buying new running shoes every 3 months and still wasn’t enough.

Now I like the ‘soleless’, no rise, no cushion shoes. I’ve had a couple pair of Merrell trail gloves for years and they are fantastic. I stick to grass. Go all out for 20-25 minutes max or mix in some plyometrics. Have more than a few soccer fields by the house which are perfect. Even have some hills I can hit right next to them. This has actually rehabilitated all my aches and pains 100%.

Anyway all this time I’ve loved the green. Been smoking since I was a teen but only green since very early 20s. In my early 40s now. Smoke, vape, edibles. Whatever heh. I like the classic Sativa energy high mostly, go figure haha.
I found for me I get my best euphoria waiting until after my workout to smoke personally. If I do before hand I get too distracted lol. Then my workout is subpar.
Something about the bodies natural cannabinoids/endorphins nuke any high once I get the blood pumping through. Love to bring it with me. Fucking give it 1000%. Drink a bottle of water and smoke after stretching. Then enjoy a bike ride home or whatever. My bliss mode for sure.

Thats great to hear, the last thing we need for the cause is a lazy stoner. One of the ways I approach hills is by smoking before, interesting as that is my methode for flats and down hills.

But distance is good for so much and what about fun? Im in the woods getting high as a mofo with owls and shit and they are running with cars on fucking pavement, lame.

I like the interval training idea. Flat shoes are popular and shows how we are supposed to run on dirt. I like cushen for hardware (more machine then man now) in me.

Yea so Sativa seems to me popular for this activity, I just had some Jack Herer and went for an super cool run in Vermont.
Need to start wearing the heart rate monitor. But I like the getting it up there, thats right stonyness get surpassed kinda by endorphins. But there is something there, like on technical down hills I can connect paths using rocks and go in a straight line. I cant do it as well when Im not stoned.

The parts of VT I’ve been are nice. I have some fond memories of hiking on Mt Mansfield. I think I’d be doing more distance with those options too honestly. Im jealous actually. I’m from MI and the terrain around here in the south east is pretty lame.

Actually love to ski and you guys have some good spots for that too. I have to travel far for anything worth it here. Goes well with the smoke too but again I like it on a brake or a chill run. If you get the adrenaline flowing any regular stone seems to evaporate. I’m with you though on the fun hikes or spots I know well for sure. What’s fun keeps us young.

Cannabinoid receptors in your brain are similar to ones from ancient wooly mammoth hunting day humans. When we ran to catch something, or from it catching us we gain a reward in endorphins and other neurotransmitters.
Running is like getting high and getting high is like running.
