Being a Prepper and being a stoner are a contradiction in terms. Stoners don't prepare they procrastinate. There won't be many stoners left if the shit ever does hit the fan. Unless we just ran outta weed the day it actually happens.

a marauder, eh? dangerous trade............
I don't condone taking from others, but if my life or my son's life depends on it I'll take your food. I'm not a prepper but I do have some survival stuff ready. Cannabis, guns, ammo, generator, gas, little bit of food and water.

I lived in California most of my life, and I made an Earthquake Preparedness Kit about 3 decades ago. Nothing fancy, just some basics to get us thru a coupla days: a jar of peanut butter, some Capri Suns, MRE's, changes of clothing, candles. It's in a backpack, and was either floating in the back of my car, or in the garage -- I used to be pretty good about changing out the food in it, adding a fresh gallon of water, etc., but just kinda forgot about it for the last decade.

Which brings us to 3 weeks ago, when boyfriend finds the backpack, explores it, and thinks I'm REALLY weird! How exactly did I think 1 PBR and a pair of boys toddler underpants would help in a crisis? Do I really think I'm going to need to change an IV bag? (I have some random medical crap from ex husband, who was an Army medic).

The peanut butter was fine, by the way, and Teenage Son had an embarrassed laugh at the little boy underwear.

If Zombipacalypse, the Comet, the Big One, the Rapture, Randall Flagg and Cap'n Tripps, or melting polar ice caps comes along, I don't think the crap we have hoarded will make a shit of difference. My motto is to be happy NOW (or do my best). If it makes people happy to "prep" for whatever, then alrighty then.

it pairs nicely with homesteading, which I'm really into.your emergency bag is not weird. a lot of folks during Katrina sure could have used one.

I'm currently building a bug out bag.

Right now it contains:
3 different types and lengths of rope
hunting knife
skinner blade
traditional folder
2 sided diamond plate sharpening stone
Fishing hooks and line
10 cans of Tuna (in water)
A jar of Peanut butter
Basic medical supplies

Looking into getting a gas mask, with extra filters, but those tend to be expensive.

Also, I never the leave the house without my Kbar short (combat knife) which scabbard is wrapped in 100ft of parachord, a small whet stone, and fire striker tucked behind it... actually pulled it today, afraid I might have to use it. Damn pit bull in my neighborhood charged at me.

Thousands of people live "primitive" life styles here in the 3rd world; no electricity, water or food supplies, they go out and grow crops, fish and hunt. Some have absolutely no idea what is like to live in the modern world, and they don't need to. Prepare for what now?

the Third World will fare much better than the First World. here, we depend on interstate trucking to supply our cities with food and supplies. here.......we are 9 meals away from chaos.

I have athletes foot cream in there, but no foot powder or socks. Used to have socks tucked away then my dog got into my sock drawer and I needed to pull out the extra pair.

The honey's a good call.

I can carry everything I own. I live now. Fuck making life revolve around some bullshit fear of the sky falling. Life is in session and the world needs attention.

I had wanted to start a thread on here about prepping but didn't because I knew it would have a bunch of uninformed and unprepared people on here talking crazy.

If you really do plan on just stealing from other people I feel bad for you, you probably won't make it a month before your shot and your family starves.

I recently began prepping and planning. Fortunately my family and my fiance's family is open minded and we recently purchased a farm for both of our families to live at in the shtf. It has a well for fresh water, 30 acres of farming land, abundant wildlife for hunting, and about a mile hike to a big river, all while being 7 miles away from any type of city.

I am just now starting to collect an aresonal, which will consist of hi-point pistols and surplus rifles until we are financially stable enough to invest more, in which case I plan on getting a belt fed 7.62x54r rifle, most likely a pkm, which costs $4,000+

We will have about 20 people living there so we feel we will do good, unless a divorce happens.....

I agree that people thinking they can just roll over the better prepared are the ones who are more likely to die quickly.

Just make sure that you have at least 1 hand pump for the well. I used to live in 25 acres, and we had the power knocked out from a storm. When the power went, so did our water supply. My wife and I had to filter and boil creek water for two weeks. If we had lost power during the dry season we would have been fucked.

Also, would a PKM be legal for civilian use? I've thought about stockpiling some weaponry but I'm having a hard time getting my better half on board with it (she's not opposed to guns, but she thinks I'm a bit clumsy). Personally I'm thinking, Barretta m9 for a side piece, AR15 or AK74 with an RDS as a primary, Mossberg tactical shotgun for cqc, and a dragonov for distance shooting and hunting purposes. Also a bow, in case the ammo starts to run low.

Yea its legal as long as its semi auto, you can get any belt fed gun as long as its semi auto unless you love in a gun restricting state

One thing I didn't think about until today was the costs of bunkering down in the city. In an event where its the government vs the people, a lot of fighting will be done in the city causing a bunch of collateral damage. If you watch this video, it shows people in the Ukraine fleeing the city because of the fighting.

And if you haven't heard of vice, they are a non mainstream non censorship way of seeing what's happening in the world, and you should check out their videos and reports of the Ukraine fighting and other stories.
