Anybody ever tried turf builder as fertilizer?

So i'm shopping around for some fertilizer and i see the numbers 22-2-2 or something like that and i think those are good numbers for growing, so why do people only use it for growing grass in there yard and not on there "plants"?

Be careful, many turf builders are "weed and feed" (Scotts off the top of my head), meaning they have chemicals that will kill anything but grass. There's a good chance of nute burn as well, Scotts is 30-2-3.
