Anyone ever had cuttings start to flower before they develop roots?

Hi there!

ive got some cuttings of a strain ive never cloned off from before and I'm noticing something that seems odd to me.
My cuttings of this strain only are starting to flower, getting little buttons and everything, and the mother is not. neither are the other two strains in the tray.
they are under 24 hours of light so thats making me thinkthat this strain just tries to flower whwhen it gets stressed really easily? also these cuttings look thenstrongest out of any of the cuttings in the tray.

so anyone ever had this happen to them with certain strains? this one is claimed to be 90/10 indica dom (M.O.B.-mother of berries, mother of blueberry etc.. if your from maine/northern new england you'll know it).

here is a pic of the mother plant (which was a clone as this strain is clone only and is very obviously female) and a pic of the cuttings which already had pistils/stigma before cutting.

pics are kinda shotty because I have extremely shaky hands nowadays and they are taken with my phone. if you need better ones I'll see what I can do.

Yes! I had an indica last year that I took cuttings of. one of them, for whatever reason, decided to flower instead of root. even under 24 hour light, it just kept building a nugget. I couldn't believe how far it went with straight water - after a month or so I eventually pulled it out of the glass of water it was in, dried it out and smoked it, and couldn't believe it when it actually got me high. I think she inadvertently got too much darkness somewhere along the way and never bounced back. I'm still growing her outside at the moment, and have taken other clones of her without this issue. waterbud - Copy.jpg

I've had plants in veg get gnats and root rot and it stressed them out enough to go into flower (twice), but never clones. When it happened instead of trying to save them I cut clones and scrapped them, clones reverted back to veg and did fine.

Well you took cuttings as the mother plant was transitioning into flower i woldnt worry about it leave lights in 24 hrs and they will root and grow some wild looking leaf patterns , just let it run its course eventually clones will break out and look normal again

hmm well that would make sense but I dont know why the mother plant would have been transitioning to flower, as it has been under 24 hour light as well.

I feel like this is a longshot but could it have anything to do with where I took the cuttings off the plant? I ussually take my cuttings off the bottoms of plants, but with these I was just topping the mother again and used the tops. ussually when I top my plants I just sit them in a glass of water on my counter and donate them to another patient if they need cuttings/practice cloning.

Stress flower from no lights out "rest" time is possible..

You may have an Auto....

I know, I'll bet you didn't order an Auto.....Who did you order the seeds from? Bad dealer? OR (more likely) the seeds got mixed by accident and you popped an Auto as a "whoopsy" mixed in ......

unless you have grown this strain over n over will you know what its capable of i mean if this is a purchased seed grow then again cannot imagine how shady some business can be your strain could of been out of stock and they threw in closest looking thing right
