Anyone ever try 9/3 veg, 6/6 flower???

Was wondering if it's been tried yet. I might just take 2 clones from the same mom at the same nodes and do a side by side. 1 would be normal 18/6 veg, 12/12 flower. The other 9/3 veg and, 6/6 flower. I figure it effectively replicates a day half as short as a standard Earth day. Anyone? Thoughts?

I'm not sure if that's enough time for the chemical reactions to peak. I am sure that you could probably produce something, but it would probably be gangly and disappointing.

Is this something that you heard about? Never heard of this sched. Sounds like what Cap said gangly.
Plus now thinking about it more why would you only give 12hrs of dark? Thats when trichome production happens. If not please someone correct my ass.

Well I just took 2 clones from the bottom of my African Buzz Sativa tonight. Think I'll try it with them. Just need a cpl more timers and some bulbs once they've rooted. Be on the look out for a journal soon. :)

Basically my thought is this, I took 18/6 aqnd 12/12 and divide by 2. Pretend you're a plant on a planet spinning faster around a sun than Earth by 12 hours. Now of course being Earthly plants who knows how MJ will respond, BUT in total she will receive 18 hours light and 6 hours dark in a veg cycle of 24 hours and 12 light and 12 dark in a flower cycle of 24 hours. I have time, I have clones, and nothing better to do. Let the games begin. :)

By the logic you describe, halfing your hours seems like it would double the time required, if you can apply the math that directly (which I doubt). I'm all about experiments, so I say go for it for the sake of science, but I think your conclusion will be that thousands of years of evolution is hard to change in a closet. Personally, I get too emotionally attached to my plants to bother trying to reinvent the wheel, but if you can afford to lose a couple (but then again maybe get good outcome?) give it a shot and keep us posted.

Just wonderin' what would happen. What piqued my interest was going from 24/0 to 20/4, and the amazing difference that seemed to make as far as growth.
