Anyone flood coco?

Im sick of watering pots with peat and just want something as forgiving. So im gonna go with 2 gallon pots of coco with 2.5 week veg. How often do i flood per day? How strong should the flood be? ppm wise or ec doesnt matter. What should the ph be?
Ive never done flood and drain but know how its done setup wise. Should i mix perlite? Im clueless to coco and search for alot of flood and drain in coco and every one just started talking about rw and Ht.

NO perlite, just straight coco. Flood daily and flood just enough to soak it thoroughly and nute ppm are very subjective. TDS depend on age, strain and brand. Ph around 6.0

Well i run purple kush at 1000ppm on average and less than 500 for veg. Thats in Soilless and once a week. I do feed then water. I feed GMB by advanced in veg and first two weeks. I know to run less nitrogen for them in coco and more cal mag iron.
So should i run what i normaly run with added calmag.
Im using hydroFUEL bloom right now for week three and on. Using it at 800 plus additives so about 1000. I was gonna run straight base plus silicate to raise ph. Half a cup will bring ph from 5.5 to 6. Im gonna add greenplanets Pro Cal cause coco lacks and so does my water.
any help is good.

I dont like the salt build up from top feed nor do i like setting it up. I prefer the flood and drain. Just simple. I just need some forgiving or i would be doing rw

if you choose to flood and drain coco, you may want to drain to waste....i think coco will throw off ppm readings and also cause salt buildup in reservoir. iev grown in coco in the past, used like soil but with plenty of runoff every water.

If you cant get 3/4" red lava rock then use perlite, although I feel you'd like the cost effectiveness and effectiveness of the lava rock. It also wont break down like perlite. I really really really recommend something w/ the coco, otherwise you count on odd root based wetting agents for problems later. Much easier and safer with some lava rocks. I've seen a problem w 100% coco from all the big brand names.

I ve decided to do in in promix. if its not promix then its rw. People know about flooding RW more than coco. rw is a breeze to clean up aswell. i want to do it in pots so it would be rw scraps or whatever its called. i would do a two week veg in 1 gallon pots

Rockwool is gross in my opinion, and bad for the environment. I use Botanicare innoculated coco and it rocks. I've used canna and the atami coco as well, they worked great too. I was doing flood and drain recirculating, but I had to lower my tables to the floor and stack my rezs on a rack. So I'm currently top feeding with 1/2" tubing and then shop vac'n the run off away. Now I'm looking to make some crazy CAP ebb and gro / flow tables hybrid, with a 55 gal tank, using the 3 tables as "buckets", so I can do recirculating again. Wasting expensive plant foods sucks.

So why did you stop flood and drain?

My plants got too big, so I was forced to drop the trays, and then I liked it, so I started vegging longer and now I'm growing 4-5ft tall plants in an 6.5ft tent, under a scrog, sitting on trays on the floor. It was fuckin crazy to see, check it out:

There's 10, 13, and 15 plants on each of those 3x3 trays, respectively.

Looks good.
So what tray do you think is gonna yield the most per tray?
I think the tray with 13 yielded the most (front right foreground). The one with 15 didn't yield as much as it could because some of the smaller branches were stuck under the insane, unmanagable scrog, so they didn't get adequate light like I would've liked. Ended up with around 3.9 lbs from all 3 tables, under 4 600s, not bad.

Hey Mr.smileyface

I flood and drain coco every day.
Bottom 2 inches of pot is filled with granulated rock wool.
Stops the coco messing up you res and tray with particulate.

I tried mixing it with perlite but have decided I prefer it straight.

Good luck,

dude i just got done growing some purple kush in an ebb and flow. my ppm's were on average about 1700. I was and still am using hydroton and have also been wanting to make the switch to coco, but i am having trouble finding a good supplier. i was planning on using coco croutons s2 and s3 sizes that way I can still feed them 4 times or so a night.

really? 1700 ppm? thats insane. Way to much bud. I fed pk at 1200ppm once. but my co2 was 1800ppm in a sealed room. I feed around 1000ppm in peat/promix. Thats at peak bloom to. I dont know about coco so i was gonna run 850 ppm in a flood and drain.
I dont get why you would feed that much? Do you see cal/mag def at week 4?

DSCN0733.jpgI feed that much because the plants tell me they can take it. I have some udubb and super silver haze going now their ppms are at 1200 right now, they were up to 1900 but i got a little burn in the tips and backed it off a bit to give 'em a break for a few days.
no burn=more nutes=fatter buds=happier me
zoom in on this pic and you can see from my guages i am not bullshitting.
