really? 1700 ppm? thats insane. Way to much bud. I fed pk at 1200ppm once. but my co2 was 1800ppm in a sealed room. I feed around 1000ppm in peat/promix. Thats at peak bloom to. I dont know about coco so i was gonna run 850 ppm in a flood and drain.
I dont get why you would feed that much? Do you see cal/mag def at week 4?
Why wouldn't I?

The only way i could see you running it that high is if your co2 was 1800 and your strain was a heavy feeder. Or your tap water contains 500ppm haha
i would never running anything that high.
Why not? Afraid of 'em getting too big? I go into my garden multiple times a day, any burn or sign of over feeding I will notice right away. If they can handle it, then by all means give it to them.and no co2 either. i don't really need it at this point, I have plenty of air flow. ppm off my tap is usually about 170 or so. CES nutes just rock in my opinion. Dirt girls love it too.DSCN0688.jpg

I recently started ebb & flow with 2 gallon pots of promix/perlite 50/50, I only flood about 1/3 way up the pot but 10 minutes later the top is moist. None of the mix gets into my rez when it drains since the cycle is slow enough, maybe 10 minutes. I only flood them every few days as it takes a while for them to use it. This is just for veg while the pots are close together, later when I spread them out in my bloom system then they get top feed via tubes, just since it's too large an area to ebb & flow.

do you use coir or what? whats your feed schedule like?
Yeah, Coco Coir.........

I feed once a day, First feed an hour after lights on in Vegg and Twice a day in flower.
I vegg between 500-750ppm Using Cann Vega A + B , Superthrive and Rhizo.
I Flower between 900-1200 ( strain dependent i guess ) using Cann Flora A + B, Superthrive and Rhizo. I have been experementing with H202 and Hygrozyme ( seperately off course ).
Not sure what i prefer as yet......

Wow twice a day with core? seems like that would be too much. how long does it take a pot of yours to drain out?

I found the coco I am going to start using. It was a pain in the ass to find them but I finally did. I am going to get some RioCoco Chunks(husks). They drain fast so I will still be able to flood pretty much the same as i now do with hydroton but i will get all the benefits of coco. As soon as my current grow is over i am going to do a side by side shiskaberry grow. everything will be as close to exactly the same as possible except for the medium. it should be interesting....

I had looked at similar products as welll, but am concerned about how fast they drain. i didn't invest all the money into rez's and pumps and timers just to have them kick on once a day or once every other day. i wanna feed a lot. I am ordering this today. i'll update here when i get a grow going with it, which will be a side by side with hydroton. http://www.hortamericas.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=18&Itemid=7
i am going to get the coir chips. they are nice and cheap, and made by RioCoco (suppose to be really high quality.)

Well the ReadyGro is supposed to support 5-6 floodings a day. I also am trying out a new substitute for perlite called Hydrolite (http://www.americanagritech.com/grow-substrates/hydrolite), it seems to be working well so far.

As for the cost of rezs, pumps, and timers, I don't know your situation or how many of these you have, but mine were really inexpensive compared to all the other equipment required. Pumps are like $12-$20 for smaller ones, and $40-$80 for huge ones. Air pumps are $8-$50 and you could potentially use one for up to 2-8 rezs (depending on size). Timers are $16-$30 each for uncomplicated digital or analog ones. I've spent less than $200 total on a ton of this stuff and I have extra pumps lying around from changing setups. Just sayin.

hey smilie did you settle in to the new spot yet? I'm in the same boat as you, been running sunshine #4 for a while now and really want to make the switch to flood&drain mostly cause I'm F'in lazy. its a toss up between RW hugo's and the boss coco bags both are 6x6 and about the same price. ijust like all the info about rw, compared to flooded coco. and tring to figure the timing seems to be the biggest hassle for both.
