Anyone had luck using walmart blower fan as exhaust?

I see these stanley blower fans in walmart pretty cheap:



I was curious if anyone has been able to make them work as an exhaust fan alternative? Is there a good way to connect ducts to these? How do they compare with other exhaust fans? Thinking about picking one up but not sure.

i disagree with renyman. If they ARENT using a whole lot of power. ( more than your willing to use), then hell yea use them. That model blower can move A LOT more air than you think. Compared to other exhaust id say its a little better, just will probably have to have the blowing part connected to some kind of recantagularly round pvc, that should fit perfectly in duct work. But like i said its all about the power your willing to use, and how big the room is.

Man, i just switched from 2 stanley to 2 of the hydrofarm fans that i linked and i can tell from experience that the stanley blowers once moded arent shit compared to hydrofarms. I would bet that the hydrofarm model pushes twice if not three times more air. Not only that but with the stanley you have to run around looking for attachments then fit them on somehow then your left with a 150cfm fan max. Not worth it considering the price of the hydro. Now, if youre only cooling one hood then you should probably get a fan speed adjuster as well because 400cfm may be too much air. Also, Hydrofarm is a trusted brand.

I have a 400w HPS in a 4x4x8 grow tent, where would 400 cfm put me?
