Anyone Have a Good Tutorial on Growing Mother Plants and Taking Clones?

I recently tried growing my first mother plant and taking clones from the plant. I don't really have an issue with cloning as much as I do with the principles of growing a solid mother. All the clones taken from the mother developed just fine, but the mother looked horrible in just a matter of days and ended up dying.

I'm curious about some of the following:

• From what part of the plant do you take the clones?
• How many nodes should be left on the mother?
• Watering schedule in conjunction with cloning? (I think I watered my mother with nutes just days before taking clones. I'm thinking that might have been part of the issue)
• What is the expected longevity of a mother plant?
• Any other general information

Does any one have a good tutorial or could you possibly direct me to a good tutorial.

um, if you can't keep a mother then you can't grow. keeping a mother is simply a plant you keep under 18/6 lighting and don't put into flower. other than that, you just water when it looks like it needs it.

you can clone from anywhere really, if there is just 1 node left then you're still good to continue growing the mother plant. if she looks healthy then she's good to be cloned. my mother has been on the go for about 6 months now.

ya give mother full veg strength and low does of bloom so clones can retain the Nitrogen before they have roots to feed themselves. and then just flush with water every other feeding. take as many clones as you can from lower part of plant. you can keep a mother for a long time but i would replace her with a new clone every 3-6 months. check out AL B Fucts tutorial. what kind of method are you using to clone?

Keep them on 18+ hours of light a day.
