anyone know a way to keep cats out of a garden?

my grandfather has a problem with neighbor cats in his front yard flower beds. thought id ask you guys haha

any advice?
 
Piss around the area...imagine that, seeing a guy pissing around flowers on his front yard! haha...but in all seriousness, this should work...
 
I don't know if it works as well with cats but one method that has always worked well against dogs is sprinkling Tabasco sauce (or spicy sauce equivalent) around the perimeter of the garden. The dogs stay far away after that!
 
ive talked it over with him, and i think were going to get a .22 haha

the cats are probly helping him out, chasing away the bunnys or other flower eating creatures...i know my fathers cat hangs out in his garden and does him the good deed.

but if he just doesnt want the cats in the yard its going to be a fierce battle. most likely to the death lol

where he lives they dont really have pests. but the neighborhood cats tear up flowers after they shit in them hahaha
