Let it rise natually about that 5.4 level. I like anything between 5.5 and 6.0 for veg and then let them go to about 6.0 to 6.25 in flower. N is better absorbed at the lower ph but P and K like it a little higher.

So the 5.4 is still on the low end? I hate adjusting ph levels, my ph solution doesnt have directions as to how much solution per gal so trying to adjust a 7gal res sucks bawls.

Yes 5.4 is on the low end. Try micro dosing it with 1 tsp (5ml) per res, wait a couple of hours and remeasure. Remember anything between 5.5 and 6.0 is fine. Shoot for the range and not a number. I use one of those droppers they sell for dosing medicine at the local drug store. It's marked in ml and tsp. When you dose with ph down try to stay as far away as practical from the root mass. Direct contact with ph down by a root will prablay kill that one little root and be expressed in one or two bad leaves. Nothing to really worry about but if you can avoid something then why not do it.

Quick question about PH adjusment, how long does it actually take for my small drops of solution to change the ph in the whole reservoir? I ask because I only can access the water in one corner and its hard to stir in, thanks.

Ok Ive been letting it sit bout 30 mins before rechecks, the girl at the hydro store was trying to be helpful but her tits were too loud for me to hear what she was saying.

Hi there, just read your thread ;) I'm sure you are already contemplating how you can make your system a bit more user friendly next time ;)
PH adjustments need to be easy, you will be doing them a lot! Your soup should also be stirred around in the res bla bla...
Mainly I wanted to add that I would take the ph a bit higher, especially since you have some issues going on. Around 5.8-6.0
Best off luck to you!

Thanks for you're advice but there aint no way im gonna try to maintain a PH range that close. Im riding this one out with the previously suggested 5.5-6.0 range.

I really hope so cause this hobby is getting close to a yr old and only my second crop and since the last one produced about 50grams dry but not good quality I need something to boost confidence that I can do this.

Update: So Ive had the PH steady in the 5.7-6.0, the plants are def drinking water now as they have all grown at least 2" and are filling out but some leaves are still getting discolored. The ones that I have watched go from green to dead started browning from the edge before completely crisping. The nutes are still at half and all plants are atleast 11" tall, are they needing full strength? Also, I'm getting cal mag tomorrow.
