anyone look into halogens?

so i found this 1000w halogen for under 20 bucks, are halogens just to damn hot to even use? or could this be a cheap alternative to hps and MH

Dude dont even spend your money, halogen does not give off the right spectrum, just go to home depot and buy some cheap cfl's theyll be much better!!!!+they give off heat like crazy!!! it wont even be worth your time to use it

I used halogens to cook one time. I cooked 3 slices of bacon and 2 eggs once, I wouldnt put them anywhere near my plants...

i would never "look into" a halogen. not without good sunglasses anyway.

haha i knew they were hot but damn, that sounds pretty damn hot, im just looking into cheaper forms of lighting for myself and others

i knew a dude a while back who expiremented with halogens..n to my suprise his plants actully grew..n had a pretty good yield! but he had the air system always on...it was freakin hot!!
