I grow in 3 gallon pots and have some clones vegging in preparation to be mothers. This is my first time attempting to make mothers. Is it possible to do them in 1 gallon pots or do I need to keep Mom's in 3 gallon pots ad well?

Keep the moms in the biggest pot possible, it can get as big as you let her with room to grow.

I want it to be as small as possible while still being able to function as a mother. I want to have about 10 mothers going while I figure out which 4 or 5 to maintain.

I've kept a mother in 2qts of soil for 16 wks, and kept it under 28" above the pot. And as IC3 stated use low wattage lighting. I run T8 bulbs in my mini mother cab.
