Anyone use sunlight AND artificial grow lights?

Just curious if anyone else has any experience using natural light from a well placed window/skylight/etc and supplemented that with grow lights?

Had a pretty gnarly gnat situation, but finally got that under control with some mosquito dunks and neem oil. Now I am noticing that the stems on the leaves toward the top are red. i have read about phosphorous def causing red or purple stems, but anyone have it happen just at the top? I guess theres no way to know if it's genetics or not, but I guess I assume that since Im such a novice I could very well be missing something! ;)image.jpg

This is only my second grow- so all input is welcome and appreciated.
My first grow was a cabinet grow. I ended up with more females than anticipated (all of the seeds rather than half as I was expecting). So I put the other plants that wouldnt fit in my bathroom window sill. It has privacy glass, really good sun exposure, and my house backs to a conservation- so no neighbors in the back to worry about. That window plant ended up doing just as well as the plants that I had in the cabinet under gobs of lights... So for my second grow, i decided to take from both and merge the two. I put a crib railing across my tub to keep the plant bases at a good level. Then I put pressure mounted shower rods up above and attached my clamp lamps. (To help keep as much light as possible I bought a white room darkening type thermal curtain so that the white reflects the sun and artificial lights back somewhat is my theory anyway).

So we are now in week 6 of flower. Last time (with same seeds) It took a good 14 weeks before my trichomes started being cloudy/amber enough. This grow seems to be about the size right now that My last one was at the end, so keeping fingers crossed for a better yield!
