Hello,

I am trying to build something simalar to the atomix aeroponic unit. But I just need a little info. This is what I need to know...

1. Spray set up... does the spray come out of the nozzel in a flat fan, full cone or hollow cone configuration.

2. Orentation of nozel inside grow chamber... where is the nozzel placed inside of the grow chamber pics would be nice if someone is nice enough to take the time to take pics and post them here.

here is the stats on the nozzel i found...

10-100 psi
0.7-4 bar
0-60 gph
1.1-110 L/h
20°-40°

i doubt anyone is using one here but the guys have been discussing air assisted nozzels in the thread "My true HP aero plug and play pods" should be able to get some info that might help.

This is the best info you will find in the forums at the moment.

It covers air atomized and high pressure aero. I will give you one hint though. For a typical chamber 3 meters square and 2/3 meter deep you will only need to be spraying around 5 to 10 ml per second, and you will only need to spray around 1 second per minute. That means say two nozzles of around 2.5 gallon per hour. The nozzle photo you show looks like the old atomix nozzle but it is likely quite different. The needle cleaning feature in the old atomix nozzles reportedly my many did not work for crap. You just need to use a full cone siphon waste oil nozzles and adapters. They spray pattern, droplet size and the spray volume is very adjustable throgh just varying air pressure and fluid siphon or head heights. Plus there are about 10 different size nozzles to choose from. The size will depend on the size chambers you will be using. There is presently a very good oilless silent air compressor for sell on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140372683588&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT A new unit the same size from the same company with out the case is over $3500 plus shipping.

Just wanted to say thanks tree farmer and fatman7574 for your replies.

I was actuall thinking of building a compresser from a 1hp frige compressor but I will keep my eye on that one. I was going to go with 2 of the DELAVAN 30609-11 or 30609-28 since you can pick them up for $24 and a 3x3x3 foot chamber and if things work out i will upgrade to stainless steal nozzels. I have been wanting to build one of these systems for some time now but my interest really got stired when I read the post at https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/254876-my-true-hp-aero-plug.html . I just hope this works out and i'm not just throwing my money down the drain.

fatman7574 didn't you buy some of the DELAVAN nozzles? how did that work out so far?

I have no complaints at all about thenozzles except to sya that you do not want tp pay the standard retail pt rice for them...Buy them on Ebay for 25% to #%% of standard retail. Patriot supply [email protected] is the cheap Ebay source for the SN adapters and Hago http://cgi.ebay.com/HAGO-BRAND-WASTE-OIL-BURNER-9-28-NOZZLE_W0QQitemZ190364836773QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2c52a0e3a5 does sells an OEM replacement for the Delavan Valves. Their cheaper nozzle is half brass and half stainless steel, which actually makes them a bit better than the Delavan brass valves. Do not order the Hago (Reznor) valve as they are different.

yea if you click on the 30609 in my last post it takes you to patriot supply. I think i will go with the hago nozzle.

fatman7574 if you learn of any good tricks on using the nozzles I would be interseted in any advice you could give.

You need to do some math, but that nozzle manufacturer has spec charts that will allow you to figure out what you need. What spray pattern do you plan to use?

The Atomix used 2 full cone nozzles. In a 3x3x3 chamber, 2x 0.6gph nozzles would be enough if they can provide full chamber mist coverage.

are you sure about that looking at the nozzel it looks like a flat fan but a full cone does make more sence.

Def. full cone. Timing of 2-4 sec on and 3-6 min off. Highly recommend mimmicing their V2 combi system that had a small DWC portion at the bottom of the rooting chamber. A solid state High pressure air solenoid for each atomizer, oil free silent air compressor of the medical type, and a high accuracy repeat cycle timer that can do the 2 second off settings. Remember start with AT MOST 1/4 strength nutes.

hey docmircon

Thanks for the reply and info. You say i'm going to need a solenoid for each atomizer, I was thinking i would only need one to fire both atomizers but thats why im here to get advice so I dont screw something up. It sounds like you have tryed a simiar setup. If so how is it working out and is it worth the investment.

I saw this atomix aeroponics on youtube but it was quickly deleted and now I cant even visit their website. I think the government doesnt want california to know about atomix. no problem viewing it from another state. anyone else have this issue? The roots on that system look insane and will definetly be the next step in aeroponics technology.
