Anything to add to soil.

I got a quick one for you folks. Tomorrow I will be potting up my first grow, today I went to a local store and bought some FoxFarm Ocean Soil. I figure its good for the first hit.

I was just thinking that I read somewhere that maybe I should add Perlite to it? If so what would you recommend as far as the mix ratio?

Also while I am at it is there anything else recommended to add to the soil?

Ocean forrest is decent soil, 20% added perlite is good enough, 30-40% for seedlings.

some strains might show cal and/or mag def when mature, a teaspoon of dolomite lime mixed in per gallon of soil would help with that, cook before using it, let the soil sit moist (not heavily watered) for a few weeks after mixing.

Thank you! I got to ask I noticed your handle. SPL as in Sound Pressure Level? And 808 as in 808 kick drum? Sorry if I am wrong, I used to be big into car audio, and still think about putting something in my current ride. When I saw SPLFreak808 it got me thinking.

Yes as in sound pressure level, 808 is an area code.

I do the same... great water retention...I water much less...as long as humidity is in range
