I plan to have a grow op in my apartment, i have this hallway that goes to a washroom but about halfway to the washroom there is a doorway in the wall to another room with no other doors. I plan to build a door and cover it with a bookshelf and i will have air in and out tubes coming out of the wall covered by shelfs and other furniture.

Anyways my question is can someone just randomly come into my apartment and search around?

I live pretty low so if someone looked at my window they would see a grate or 2 (air in and air out), would that make them want to search my apartment? On the inside it will be disguised as a AC system with regular fans inside blowing to make it seem like its real, the air in and out tubes will come out the bottom and crawl under a few furniture pieces towards the grow room

After re-reading this I dont know if it should be under Legal Edge or Stealth

check my journal in my signature...thats in an apartment...just be careful and you should be ok...get a lock on the door and if they try to just pop in and look around at least they cant get into the grow room....make up some bs like you stored stuff in there and your having trouble finding the key....just use common sense...

The owner or manager is supposed to have access to the apartment for emergencies and stuff. Also if they spray for bugs or change smoke detector batteries they will enter the apt. Usually they leave a note on the door letting you know that they plan to enter the next day. But a lot of the times they just come in without in warning. I have a lot of experience living in apartments. Trust me, if you change the locks and they notice it will piss them off. So better to have no evidence laying around. A lot of it depends on if its privately owned. If you get lucky the owner lives out of town and they apt building doesnt have bug guy in there every month. Last thursday of every month the exterminator used to come in and go in every room in the place. Very annoying, after 3 years of renting I asked the owner If I could ask them not to spray. So for the final year I lived there only if it was a different bug guy would they come in to spray. Basically I couldnt grow at that location. My new place is a lot better. No bug guy and the owner is out of town. ;-) Good luck and be stealthy. Just keep it confined to a closet space or whatever and use odor control.

all the apartment complexes that i lived in in the past the manager and property maintenance guy had a master key and by law if deemed necessary could enter any apartment. Now what is deemed neccesary i have know idea, but I'm pretty sure they can enter so be careful. most of those peeps are stoners anyway, lol.
