I just popped open 1 of the 4 bags of Gaia Green I bought locally about 2 months ago and it seems the owner of the store had kept them outside during the worst aphid year we have had in a long time. I have them everywhere in my flower room, and veg cabinet now. Great. The business operator will not accept a return.

My question is this; I have heard tell that once the temps get well below 0 deg C on the permanent outside (should be this week or next for me) I can just leave them outside for a week to kill the bugs in the bags? Or is this just another internet rumor, and I should toss the whole shebang?

I wouldn't usually care, but for 35$ a bag, I would like to save it if I can.

Toss it in the frezzer maybe?...the logic is sound IMO.

Hmmm - Mrs. Rusher has been on me about buying another deep freeze for the basement. Maybe I get a little larger one than she wanted, and use it for bug-killing as well.

So you think it will work? Damn I hope you're right.

Unless aphids are like house flys...it should?

You can also try putting orange lemon lime peel in the bag most insects hate citrus

Try mixing in some diatomaceous soil, it will kill the aphids and maybe any other bugs you encounter.
