Aquarium water=fish emulsion?

PEACE. I have a question for the organic growers here on RUI. Would fishtank water/aquarium water be equivalent to the fish emulsion sold in stores? I have read a brother on here use it and I wanted to get the response of others before I try it. I have a 1/2 gallon of the stuff taken from the fish bowl before cleaning the bowl out for the fish. The water softener was not added intentionally so as to be able to use it in the grow room later. So, is it a feasible alternative? If so, than how would one use it or administer it (portions)? I had planned to use 1-2 tblspns per gallon of water and wondered if it would be enough.

So can anyone tell me if this is do-able? Thanks for listening and plus rep for an answer.

I've heard people using aquarium water before, but no as a replacement for fish emulsion. They are completely different things. I would just stick with the emulsion, but if you feel like experimenting go for it...

PEACE. JERRY GARCIA:o WOW AM i LUCKY OR WHAT "THEE" JERRY GARCIA ON MY THREAD:clap:. Thanks for the reply. I had read a person using it as nutes, hence I naturally made the corelation to the fish emulsion. If it isn't a suitable alternative than I will not do it just because. That's the reason to get the opinions of others prior to. I am looking to save my babies because they are yellowing and i can't figure why except that it is a nitro deficiency and the fish emulsion was to fix it (if the aquarium water was the key...maybe not). Thanks for your input. I will keep it in mind and if I should decide to do it I will put the info out there for others to know.

i watered me plants with aquarium water its fine to do. lots of good bacteria and nitrates
Peace. I appreciate the reply, but can you tell me if it was the only thing that you used that had nitrates or was it an add on. The reason being is that it could of not been a problem but it may not have helped either. I am asking because I am trying to fix a deficienncy (I believe) and I wanted to get a DEFINITE thumbs up. My plants are looking really bad and I don't want to make it worse than it already is. So are the results FOR SURE or was it an add on and not truly conclusive?

Thanks for taking the time to reply and I repped you as well.

pics or descriptions are what is needed to diagnose your problem. deficiencies or nute lock-up is probably to blame. Are you using tap water or distilled or RO?

Fish emulsion fertilizer is made from actual fish, not fish waste from fish tanks. Both are high N fertilizers, but the actual concentration of your fish tank water, of course, will vary.

PEACE. I REALLY appreciate you stopping in with an answer for the question and providing me the reading material. Although it didn't give me the answer that I was looking for it does break down the fish emulsion origin and processing.

Now as a follow-up query, how much to use to water with? Since no true gauge of the concentration is possible, yet it is still usable , then at what rate? 1Tblsp per gal of water or a cup per? Will any amount burn them in your honest opinion?

High times had a grower that used nothing but fish water for his plants and he called it guppy ponics, I thought it was pretty cool.
A few thing he stressed was that you need to feed the fish GOOD food and not BS fish food. Like he said he would give them real food burgers and such. He also ran way more fish than you should in a normal aquarium, like 15 per gallon of water (small fish) and had to have 2 tanks going all the time, but that was all he used to water the plants. so he need a lot of water on hand...
The article is probably 2 years old if you care....JR

thanks for the rep.

when i planted my seeds i had no nutes so i watered them straight un ph'd fishtank water for a week or so untill i got the coco medium and canna nutes to go with it. i had very nice green seedlings
i then fed my plants with coco nutes but i fed them too little and the pot didnt dry out for about a week so they got fairly pale.
so on the nute second feed about 2 1/2 weeks after they popped i fed them the standard canna coco nutes but i also dumped the contents of the fish filter into the nutes and fed them all of it
that gave me very rich green plants so once a week i have been adding the filter contents to their feed (i stopped now for flowering)

i then planted 3 more seeds but this time they were fed just canna nutes about a week or 2 in they have been looking pale so yesterday i watered them with just ph'd fishtank water the new growth is already greener

as long as you keep your fishtank well maintained then the water will not be harmfull to you plant. it holds bacteria that breaks down organics into into usable compounds for your plants and its a brilliant source for nitrogen

i've researched alot into aquaponics this last year. its been about for thousands of years but were only just discovering it again not only that but people have used it very successfully for growing cannbis :):)
im just getting my grow area finished once thats dont im definatly gonna doing a full dwc aquaponics set up soon :)

PEACE.:clap:WAY TO BREAK IT DOWN:clap::clap:. Thanks. I would rep u again but they wont let me until I spread some more.

BTW the water I will be using is from a fish bowl and hence no filter or anything and it had no water softener added either. But how to administer. The fish bowl only holds about a half gal so i only have that to work with so I want to have it right on the amount that will be safe to give them. Would I be safe say adding the half gallon that I have collected with 7-8 gals of water w/ molasses? Thanks for the response and I appologize for being a pest but I want to know all I can and since you have done it I must learn from your successes and failures. Thanks again.

PEACE GW , Thanks again and great luck to you in the future. I trust that it will work for me as it had for you. I will try it on a few today and see (if they are dry enough).

PEACE 400W, Yeah I trust that it is a good thing to do and I will THINK about the posting of the pix. Since I read the thing on the brother that got locked up because of the pix posted on here, and I don't want to be next.

I trust that you are being as cautious as possible as well with the news. I wont be doing the guppie ponics by the way just watering with the fish tank (bowl) water and at the time I only have 1/2 gallon of the stuff, so I will use that and see. But, I will share the results (good or bad).

Thanks for the concern and I trust that it works! Stay safe......

PEACE
